THE GLITCH 3 | Post Apocalyptic Glam Fashion Party @ Time

After the mesmerizing effect of The Glitch 2: Red Velvet Ball at Yoko Luna last November; agents provocateurs of Royal Vision are seeking to melt your winter blues by launching The Glitch 3: PLAGUE –a post-apocalyptic glam fashion party– at the Time Supper Club on January 25 in order to showcase the rising stars of a new generation of designers and performers.

Myraï Lavoie –the lady boss of The Glitch– is an emblematic figure of Montreal nightlife. She dreamed, imagined and designed this multidisciplinary concept. For the past ten years, this super-fashionista has stood out in major events. She turns heads with her eccentric style, the creativity of her costumes and the nocturnal fauna that is by her side. Myraï is our local Cruella.

Myraï Lavoie –daughter of a half-Congolese, half-Japanese father and a French-Canadian mother– was born in Quebec City and grew up in Charlesbourg. Beneath her appearance as a warrior queen with multiple tattoos and golden vampire teeth, hides a wounded woman who, thanks to the arts, has given herself armor to face the outside world by building her own universe.

During her youth, she suffered from extreme bullying, being beaten at school, and harassment in the streets because she was different. Her life was hell. She couldn’t find her place.

Myraï dropped out of school and flew to Mexico, Miami, Las Vegas, New York, Ibiza, Los Angeles, Paris and Thailand.

Over there, her difference was accepted. Myraï was invited to high-end restaurants by famous DJs, such as Loco Dice, Carl Cox, Marco Carola. She moved in the inner circles of Puff Daddy, Coldplay and Marilyn Manson. She was hired to manage the VIP sections of exclusive establishments.

Back in Montreal, after having had Cirque de Soleil founder Guy Laliberté as a mentor, she wants to give back with her partners at Royal Vision. Their mission is clear: to provide local artists with exceptional platforms to develop their creativity.
“I was not born in privilege. I ran away young. I have no diplomas. Books, movies and music educated me. With The Glitch community, I want to help people, especially artists, avoid the needless struggles I had to overcome. I want to give hope: yes, we can become who we want to be. I am living proof. I have lived most of my life without money, but I am rich in experiences.” –Myraï
She was the ugly duckling. Now she is the Queen of Hearts.

The Glitch is her series of fundraising events for struggling artists, which take place every two months in the city’s most popular venues, such as Restaurant 212 and Yoko Luna. Each happening features different talents from the world of fashion, music and visual arts.

What can a simple Crystal Castles song inspire? The theme of the January 25 Glitch at Time Supper Club –with the complicity of the M.A.D. Collectif– will be:
PLAGUE: Virus & War versus Love & Art
To open this post-apocalyptic glam party, under the spell of DJ Lunafhy, the troupe Les Amuse Girls will be coming in hot to set the stage ablaze with burlesque dances.

The designer Mael Smail Akdim, great ambassador of Moroccan fashion, offers its new collection exclusively and for the first time.

Showgirl SaraSophisticated will grace us with her presence with not one but two luminous burlesque performances.

The brand new line of retro lingerie, Les Aguicheuses by designer Angie Larocque, is also part of the show as a wink to upcoming Valentine’s Day.

With his avant-garde and minimalist aesthetic, Guillaum Chaigne will present his streetwear pieces specially designed for the occasion.

In closing the curtain, Myraï Lavoie, high priestess of Montreal nights, and her trusted acolyte, co-artistic director Alexander Bergman, will reveal some of their favorite things.

Last but not least, DJ Lilya Mandre will be behind the decks to make the Time crowd dance until the wee hours of the morning. All of it in a cool wintry atmosphere, with iridescent ceiling drapes and a neon catwalk, created by the one and only Madame Bombance.
