1. The Sistine Chapel Exhibit in Ottawa is closer than traveling to Rome!
IF the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that travelling is tricky, even during the best of times and certainly during the worst. With gas prices still high and many not wanting to spend $ or deal with mobility or health issues, travelling has declined since pre-pandemic times. So whether you live in the burbs or a neighboring city, hop into your car, grab some Tim Hortons and get to The EY Center: 4899 Uplands Dr, Ottawa, Ontario K1V 2N6
2. See Michelangelo’s work from a new perspective
The exhibit offers a fresh and distinctive take on Michelangelo’s classic work of art. The Sistine Chapel ceiling scenes were meticulously and expertly recreated in their original dimensions using cutting-edge technology. The famous scenes by Michelangelo, which are often seen in the Sistine Chapel from the floor to the ceiling, are reproduced at eye level in their original scale, allowing viewers to see all the minute details of these masterpieces. The cozy lounge sofas at the EY center allow for breaks while viewing.
3. Learn about mankind’s greatest artistic achievement through informative audio guides
Nevermind the habit of spending more time examining museum plaques than the artwork itself… To improve each visitor’s experience, audio tours in English and several other popular languages like French, Spanish…are included with each ticket!
4. Enjoy a fascinating and safe family-friendly outing
For those still Pandemic-precautious, this exhibit is spread out over over 12,000 square feet or more for personal space, plus the art itself is no-touch.
5. The Sistine Chapel exhibit in Ottawa is only for a few weeks!
Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition has travelled the world and been on display at notable locations like Shanghai’s World Financial Center, Mall of America © , the Vienna Cathedral, and New York’s Oculus at the World Trade Center.
