The Contemporary Art Galleries Association  (AGAC) is proud to present the 12th edition of Papier taking place Friday 26th to Sunday 28th of April at the Port of Montreal’s Grand Quay. This year, 46 galleries and over 300 artists will present their work to art lovers and professionals in the field. The fair will include mediums other than works on paper, giving visitors a chance to discover a wide range of contemporary art practices.

Panel discussions

Powerful and unique, public art enriches cities, sparks the imagination, and educates by its very nature of being universally accessible.

Whether a source of praise, derision, censorship, or celebration, the intention of public art is to elicit a reaction and engage all those who pass by it.

The panel will explore such questions as: How can public art transform a city? Who commissions it and why? and What is the artist’s responsibility in creating it?

Panelists: Annie Gérin (Professor at UQAM), Sara Angel (Founder and Executive Director, The Art Canada Institute), Shary Boyle (multidisciplinary artist).
