Café SAT | Hidden Coffeeshop Behind Digital Mecca Now Offers Apéros
In early fall, the Society for Arts and Technology – the SAT – opened a “third wave” coffee shop offering a drink menu, breakfasts, and lunches. With the new year, the Café SAT has launched a new experience with its apéro menu.
A selection of natural wines, cocktails, craft beer, as well as cold cuts and cheese platters, open-face sandwiches, olives, and lupini beans will now be offered from Wednesday to Friday over the winter season, and Monday to Friday come spring, in order to liven up after-work meetings with friends and colleagues.
Located on the ground floor of its connected building and filled with incredible natural light, the Café SAT is a welcoming spot for open-air learning, a meeting place for the digital community, as well as a tasting space.
The coffeeshop promises a varied experience and serves as a mecca to meet passersby, students, and professionals from the neighbourhood, such as artists, researchers, and employees from the SAT.
The design
Customized lights, revamped classroom desks and chairs, meticulous decoration, and co-working tables give the space a warm and refined ambiance.
As an architectural signature, a special creation wraps around the bar: a wooden mashrabiya that tells the SAT’s history in binary code.
The flavour
At the counter, the love of coffee is clear: baristas serve you a variety of coffee beans from different regional roasters every month.
The menu features seasonal products distributed by local producers. The dishes and breakfasts, created and served on site, range from the Mouna brioche to the iconic œuf mouillette.
The little extra
Going beyond the traditional cafe, the Café SAT will host pop-up creative exchange activities open to artists, designers, and the public.
