In case you hadn’t noticed by now, I am a HUGE fan of cosmetics in general, I love beauty products a lot and though I try not to get wrapped up and swept away by the constant surge of new releases, it is often unstoppable.

Products flash quickly on the radar and then are gone, some appearing so briefly, that once I have chosen to write about them, the collection feels somehow old, outdated, dare I say it, passé.
This end of year reflection has me realizing just how much makeup I have tried this year and especially how many new favorite products and incredible discoveries I have made along the way.
And what better time to show off your makeup appreciation and collection than over the Holidays? A period of festivities and parties, of wearing splashy and flashy colors, it’s a time to enjoy yourself.

I discovered Nuda Canada this year, a newer cosmetic company from Canada that specializes in sunless, self-tanners, perfect for enhancing your complexion. They have a selection of skincare products and body products, all of which are quite lovely as well. However, for pale and mid-tone complexions, I completely adore their Matte Bronzing Powder.
The Matte Bronzing Powder by Nuda Canada goes on evenly and lightly, it builds beautifully and can be layered for deeper effects. The tone of the Matte Bronzing Powder by Nuda Canada also makes it ideal for a little contouring as well.
I really hope they develop deeper shades to offer a wider variety and become an even more inclusive brand.

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna entered the fragrance world with their exquisite Fenty Eau de Parfum last year I believe. The Fenty Eau de Parfum by Fenty Beauty by Rihanna comes in a glamorous and elegant glass component which is stunning.
The Fenty Eau de Parfum by Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is currently available at Sephora, though I believe it may only be for a limited period of time, so try it while you can get it in Canada.
The sublime mixture of Magnolia and Musk, with hints of Bulgarian Rose and Patchouli is a truly unique, warm, floral experience that is gender-less and made for all. I love it when beauty brands are so inclusive, such a smart move to make as we become more savvy with gender identity and gender expression.
The Fenty Eau de Parfum by Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a lovely fragrance that many will find enticing and will succumb to its charms and graces.
A Gilded Gloss That Gives The Perfect Shine
I was so grateful when MAC Cosmetics sent me the Wakanda Forever Collection, made in collaboration with MARVEL Studios, for the release of Black Panther II : Wakanda Forever, which was released in November and has been dominating the world’s box-office ever since.
As a huge fan of the Marvel Universe and its characters, their stories and histories; I was very happy to explore this well-crafted collection. The entire collection has many beautiful things, I have taken a very strong liking to the following, limited-edition Fellin’ Good Lipglass/Wakanda Forever.

Smashbox is another company I only began trying this past year and they were so kind to gift me with their primers last spring and I have been testing them out ever since.

The Double Wear line from Estée Lauder is renowned for its products that have true, long-lasting power and are products that can be considered long-wear.
This year they reformulated their Double Wear 24H Waterproof Gel Eye Pencil and I have been testing them out in various styles and looks, with multiple techniques and I must say these pencils are fabulous.
The Double Wear 24H Waterproof Gel Eye Pencil by Estée Lauder is truly pigmented and glides wonderfully around the eye area, both on clean skin or on top of eyeshadow. The Double Wear 24H Waterproof Gel Eye Pencil by Estée Lauder is fast drying, so once it sets in place it doesn’t budge at all; which means that if you want to do a more smoky looking eyeliner, it is possible, you will have to work quickly.
Great for lining the eyes, truly long-lasting in the waterline, excellent as a base for a smoky eye, the Double Wear 24H Waterproof Gel Eye Pencil is a great makeup product, I use and love all the shades and have found that these are some of the most performing pencils I have tried all year.

Watier is a brand that I trust to produce high-quality products that are easily accessible throughout our province. I initially tested this product out several months ago, however it is a perfect product for the Holidays.

L’Oréal Paris are renowned for making some of the best mascaras in the world and there is a reason why, they have mastered so many different types of formulations that regardless of your lash length, volume or size, there is a L’Oréal Paris mascara that is just right for you.
L’Oréal Paris makes the Voluminous Original Mascara, this formula has been one of my all-time favorite mascaras, ever since I began applying makeup on myself and others, many, many moons ago.

Liquid Eyeshadow & Glitter Options From e.l.f.
e.l.f. Cosmetics has really become one of the best, affordable makeup and skincare brands, readily available on the market today.
Easy to use products that are self-intuitive, the simple, clean packaging always contains a product that performs wonders at half the cost of most other brands out there.
My next 2 options are super easy, one-and-done types of products, that allow you to create a stunning and popping eye look in a fraction of the time needed to work brushes and conventional eyeshadows.

A Luscious Lip Oil For Your Lips
Lip oils have been all the rage in the last year, a great revamping or re-invention of the lip gloss, this time focusing on making the texture shiny and protective of the lip it is covering.

This is why there are so many different brands flourishing in the beauty space, as we all tend to identify with different types of products.
What works wonders on one person may do nothing for the next, beauty is a very personal thing.
So don’t let anybody tell you what or how to wear things, get creative if you feel like it and enjoy the freedom and fun that a little dolling-up for the party season can allow you.
