Beauty Buzz for November is all about the Best of Beauty in 2022 featuring Fenty Skin and other favorite brands of mine; think of it as a celebration of my favorite cosmetic products that I discovered the past year.

As a long-time beauty expert and active user of makeup and skincare products, I have tried many formulas, textures and finishes over the years; however, I have never been so blessed to try new products than this current year.

With the various sales happening in November and as we head into Holiday 2022, I figured I would round up a list, a little naughty and nice, of all the best bits of beauty buzz I have to offer this year.

Qualifications and Expectations

With the overwhelmingly vast quantities of product launches and newly discovered brands and products, it quickly became clear to me that testing products out was going to take time and to create a more established critique of any product, I need to use it for a certain period of time if it’s for the skin and at least test it out several times if it’s a makeup product.

Time allows me to see how the product reacts with my skin in the short and long term, how well it plays or mixes with the other products in my makeup collection and/or my skincare routine; and allows me to live with the products and results and establish a true opinion. An opinion based on my experience, versus flash trying the product once and flying to next product to sample and review.

To be on this list, my first ever Best of Beauty for 2022, I needed to have discovered the brand or product in 2022, this disqualified iconic staple products from this list, unless there has been a significant change in the formula.

So, we can begin, enjoy these beauties as they are glorious products filled with potential and well-crafted formulas that will enhance your complexion and take you to beauty wonderland.

A Moisturizer That Primes The Skin and Protects It.

Fenty Skin was kind enough to send me multiple products to begin trying over the past months and I have truly been loving many of the products they have sent. An incredible stand out to me is the Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30.

This moisturizer comes in a sleek lavender cylinder with a bottom twist mechanism, is refillable to help save the environment, and it offers you a great daily protection from the sun with its broad spectrum protection. The moisturizer has the added benefits of Niacinamide, which is a powerful ingredient to help with acne, pores and wrinkles.

Every time I put on the Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30, I am overwhelmingly amazed at how my pores evaporate before my eyes, I see glowy glassy, smooth skin every time and it feels so comfortable on the skin and leaves no white-cast, whatsoever.

A must-have product, one of the core Fenty Skin products from the initial launch way back, yes I am a bit behind the times, but Miss RiRi, you be killing it girl!

This Gloss Gives Good Shine!

Speaking of our lady Rihanna, her Fenty Beauty by Rihanna has the most shiny and pretty gloss I tried all year, the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer is a stunner.

The Gloss Bomb Universal Luminizer by Fenty Beauty by Rihanna goes on smooth and feels slick on the lips, I did not feel that it had that usual sticky feeling and it smelled so sweet and delicious to me, a delightful product to wear and the impact of the shine is phenomenal!

The Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Universal Luminizer comes in several shades and a personal favorite is the shade FU$$Y, a gorgeous semi-transparent, iridescent, mid-tone mauve pink, truly ethereal.

There is a beautiful set of 3 full-size, limited-edition colors available for the Holidays, the Gloss Posse Volume 5.0 Lip Gloss Bomb Trio, which I have added to my wish list for the Holidays, as it is a stunning set!

The Mothership Always Delivers!

Pat McGrath Labs, launched by Pat McGrath, the iconic and influential black makeup artist, creates some of the most beautiful and luxurious makeup products in the world.

The Mothership Eyeshadow Palettes are some of the most exquisitely curated collections of colors, textures, and combinations, assembled in a palette of artistic powders you can use all over the face, eyes and body.

This year Pat McGrath Labs released the Mothership X Eyeshadow Palette Moonlit Seduction, possibly one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever tried. The palette features 10 shades, comes in the typical and iconic, heavy, black palette of lacquered wood; the mirror is high quality, and the pigments are blend able and can be layered or thinned out, or amplified to full wet effect, this palette delivers multiple possibilities.

Be conscious, this is an investment, these palettes, though expensive, are in my opinion, completely worth it, the Pat McGrath Labs Mothership X Eyeshadow Palette Moonlit Seduction completely exceeded my expectations with its performance, pigmentation, and the stunning shades it holds.

Makes for an incredible gift to anyone who enjoys makeup, especially higher-end makeup.

An Eye Cream to Brighten Up Your Routine

This year, I was lucky to be blessed enough to try many of the products from the boscia line and I must say that everyone that I have tried, impresses me, none have left me disappointed thus far.

However, even with so many great products, the Peptide Trio Eye Cream is so smooth and hydrating and really applies beautifully on the area of the under-eye. Featuring Shea Butter, this deeply emollient and hydrating eye cream, really smooths out the under-eye and nourishes the skin.

The Peptide Trio Eye Cream also features a combination of peptides which have been shown to improve collagen production, keeping the skin plumper and fuller, less dry.

I love this under eye cream so much, as I have been nearing the end of my pot, after months of use, I find myself hanging on longer than necessary to these last applications, as it is just that good!

I think anyone who wants to nourish their under-eye area and is concerned about the appearance and prevention of fine lines, will appreciate the Peptide Trio Eye Cream by boscia.

A Stick That Turns Back The Clock!

Peace Out is a brand that I am so happy to have discovered this year, I have appreciated several of their launches and find that the brand brings a practical and fun approach to their products, without ever skimping on the performance of their formulas.

Peace Out creates products that help to improve complexion, most importantly acne, discolorations of the skin and pores.

However, there is one magical ingredient in skincare, Retinol, from the family of Retinoids, that can help improve most major skin concerns such as acne, discolorations and it also targets fine lines and wrinkles, dullness and helps to gently exfoliate the skin.

The Retinol Face Stick by Peace Out is a genius product, the Retinol is spread on the skin in a Squalane base, as Retinol is more easily absorbed into the skin in an oilier substance.

I love applying the Peace Out Retinol Face Stick after my second cleanse at night, I swipe it over my face, adding more in the areas where I want to soften the skin a bit more and add the rest of my nightly routine on top of it.

Easy to use, no fuss, no muss, this product is a keeper for me, I like keeping a backup, because, I intend on using the Peace Out Retinol Face Stick all throughout the winter.

A Rosy Oil Cleanser That Cleanses Deeply

Any routine begins with a great cleanser and a cleanser I have been trying for months now, that I love every time I use it; the Watier Deep Cleansing Oil.

The Watier Deep Cleansing Oil is a great, gentle oil to break up any makeup or dirt or impurities on the skin and cleanse the skin without stripping it or leaving it feeling dry. Since it is an oil-based cleanser it will be more emollient and will feel rich and silky on the skin, it rinses thoroughly and beautifully off the skin, a great product that I highly recommend.

The only drawback of this South Korean influenced cleanser is the fragrance of rose, that is present in the clear oil. I personally have always loved rose, however in some products, I can find it too strong, however, the Deep Cleansing Oil is a lightly-fragranced rose affair with such a lovely spread on the skin, it gives a luxurious cleansing experience, each time I use it.

Skin-True Color That is Beyond Beautiful

Make Up For Ever recreated their HD line and came out with one of the most beautiful foundation formulas I have ever tried in my life and career as a makeup artist. The HD Skin Undetectable Longwear Foundation by Make Up For Ever is a medium to full coverage foundation that is packed with hydration and it filters the skin in the most flattering ways for the camera and in person.

The HD Skin Undetectable Longwear Foundation stays true to shade throughout the day and will not oxidize, nor alter its appearance, it stays in place and keeps the skin looking hydrated as it blurs any unwanted features of the skin.

Smooth Skin That Smells Like Candy!

NYX Professional Makeup continues to impress me, I have been using the Marshmellow Smoothing Primer for a few months now and every time I use it, I love how easily it glides over my skin and smooths out the outer layer of my skin.

The NYX Professional Makeup Marshmellow Smoothing Primer is a great primer to use under foundation or on its own even. Not only does it perform well and help the makeup spread and the skin appear less textured, it smells so good, just like marshmallows do.

The Marshmellow Smoothing Primer comes highly rated and is a beloved primer for NYX Professional Makeup and I can see why, it performs very well, enhances the skin and the performance of the products applied on top of it and it comes in a super adorable pink container and features a product that smells so tasty!

A Deeper Concentration of Hyluaronic Acid

As winter slowly approaches towards us, your skin will begin to crave more moisture as it will be hit by extreme temperatures and conditions that are so far removed from the tropical heat; we endure during our summer months.

The Hydra-Hyal Serum by Filorga gives a wonderfully, deeply hydrating dose of Hylaruonic Acid which will help to instantly plump up your skin and make the skin appear less lined or tired and greatly improve the appearance of the size of pores.

The Hydra-Hyal Serum also comes in a lovely glass bottle, it does feature a fragrance, so anyone too sensitive to fragranced skincare, may want to stay away.

For anyone needing a deep dose of hydration, I think this serum will be an excellent addition to your routine to increase the amount of moisture you retain in your skin, to keep your skin fibers elastic and fresh all year round.

The Hydra-Hyal Serum by Filorga is an excellent gift for anyone with dryer skin, more mature skin, or even dehydrated skin, however, I have combination skin and I loved this product, so it does work well for multiple skin types.

A Putty To Smooth The Skin

I am, a true fan of primers for the face, I have seen first-hand, how well they can diffuse and blur texture on the skin and give radiance and make the skin appear and feel smoother, while allowing the makeup products added on top of the skin; to perform even better.

The e.l.f. Cosmetics Poreless Putty Primer is a product that has gone viral, been added to so many best of beauty lists, suggested by beauty editors and bloggers I follow. So I was really happy to test it out over the past few months.

The e.l.f. Cosmetics Poreless Putty Primer is clear, can be rubbed or patted on the skin to fill-in pores, fine lines and has a texture diffusing quality. The e.l.f. Cosmetics Poreless Putty Primer also plays well with other primers and products, I found myself able to layer more dewy or light reflecting primers on top of it, without sacrificing the texture smoothing effects of the e.l.f. Cosmetics Poreless Putty Primer.

An easy find at you local Pharmaprix, and well worth the low-price, the texture enhancing gem does not disappoint!

A Magical Mascara That Works Wonders!

The MACStack Mascara by MAC Cosmetics is a solid standout this year for me, by far the favorite mascara formula I discovered, this mascara lifts, separates and adds volume, it truly gives a spidery effect and I have the shortest lashes.

I have seen the MACStack Mascara perform on longer and fuller lashes and have even more astounding results, as the lashes themselves were fuller and longer.

This is an excellent mascara and currently there is a holiday set available now, that features a full size version of the MACStack Mascara by MAC Cosmetics that comes in a set, A Cocktail of Best-Sellers, which you can see below, all products I highly, highly recommend!

I have personally worked with the MAC Cosmetics brand for over 30 years, I worked for the brand on 2 occasions, and I can honestly say this is the first time I have been impressed by a mascara formulation that MAC Cosmetics has released; this mascara, the MACStack Mascara is a winner baby, Shantay, it stays!

A Resort For Your Eyes

The Resort Pigment Palette by Estate Cosmetics, a local Montreal-based brand, was released last spring and it features an incredibly bright and playful mix of pressed pigments and eyeshadows that delivers, high-quality pigments for a very affordable price.

The Resort Pigment Palette has some truly unique shades and the fine quality of the textures and the intensity of the pigment payoff is truly impressive and does not disappoint.

The Estate Cosmetics Resort Pigment Palette is a beautiful gift and it comes in the cutest cardboard packaging, a true delight for any makeup lover, especially anyone who loves bold eyeshadow colors and pigments.

A Spray-On Mask You’re Going To Love!

Glamglow makes iconic masks and has been in the beauty industry since 2011 with its legendary mask the Supermud Instant Clearing Treatment Mask, which I have gushed and gawked over, here.

Glamglow kindly sent me a replenish for my Supermud Instant Clearing Treatment Mask and they also sent me the Thirstyquench Liquid Leave-On Mask, a newer launch and I was intrigued.

The Key’s Soulcare Golden Cleanser Gentle Face Wash with Manuka Honey is a wonderful gel cleanser that has a lovely fragrance to it, now before I go further, you will either love the fragrance or not. Fragrances are personal, typically in skincare, I am not a huge fan of fragrances, however in a cleanser I mind it less, as it is a step I wash off my skin.

In the case of the Key’s Soulcare Golden Cleanser Gentle Face Wash with Manuka Honey, I feel that the fragrance is such an integral part of the experience. The Key’s Soulcare Golden Cleanser Gentle Face Wash with Manuka Honey comes in a lovely dark, glass bottle with a pump, it is elegant, sleek and understated

Personally the Key’s Soulcare Golden Cleanser Gentle Face Wash with Manuka Honey has been my favorite second cleanser of late.

A Word On Trying New Products

Now I know I try cosmetics at a frenzied pace, I do this so I can suggest the best products on the market and also so I can compare different products and textures and formulas; across the realm of cosmetics.

Not only do I receive a wonderful amount of products from companies to try (for which I am forever grateful by the way!) I am also a makeup and skincare collector; which means I will always be a Rouge Member at Sephora, regardless of the year.

One of the things I notice because I am continuously discovering newer products, I don’t get to love my real favorites as much as I would like to.

So remember you don’t need to overspend during the sales, take the time to appreciate the products you get, and remember, you only have one face to put them on in the first place.
