Beauty Buzz this January presents to you, the New Year’s Beauty Resolutions, featuring boscia and many other beauty brands, and to wish all the beauty readers, my very best wishes for 2023.
New year, new you, this cliché rings in the opportunity of change, that a new start can bring. And what better way to improve yourself, than by embracing the joy of a complete daily, self-care, skincare regimen.
A resolution I made for myself, coming into the month of January, was to write about the great products I had discovered or tried in the last year, that had not had the chance to get featured and that were truly deserving of some love.
The writing that I do for Best Kept Montreal is my continuous love-letter to the beauty industry at large. I have dabbled and played continuously in the waters of beauty and appreciated the many currents that have swayed my swimming and inspired me over the last 3 decades of working in the beauty field.
My initiation into skincare, led to my discovery and strong passion for makeup and transformation, which in turn led to me becoming more savvy and wise in skincare, formulations, ingredients and I grew a vivid love of the world of fragrances as well.
Personally, I always aim for dewy, healthy and radiant skin, I have combination-oily skin and have grown to embrace my inner, endless glow and just love it and work with it.

Vogue Magazine just listed lasers as one of the most talked about trends in beauty for 2023, so expect more coverage on this hot topic.
Hydration is essential and especially now, as we are in the harshest, windiest, coldest weather of the year, our faces are constantly assaulted by high-pressure, arctic winds and pollution, with the constant reflection of the sunlight and its potential harmful rays, reflecting off of the white snow.
Let’s Talk Hydration
My first suggestion for a New Year’s Beauty Resolution is simple; moisturize!
Moisturizing will help to hydrate your skin and keep it functioning at peak efficiency and be more resilient against the harsher weather conditions we are experiencing.
The skin obviously needs the moisture, however don’t forget that your lips and your eyes are subject to a ton of cold in the winter, which means that these 2 areas are often neglected in self-care rituals, leading to a lot of unnecessary dryness, creasing and potentially, new wrinkles.
We all use our eyes a lot, as we squint and cry our way through the harsh windy temperatures. The skin surrounding the eye is so fragile and is always in movement as our eyes are one of the most expressive parts of our face.

Beauty is so subjective, a personal experience that everyone experiences and acknowledges differently. My suggestions today where mainly concerning the skin on the face, and my reasoning is as follows.
We are all on a journey together, to come to self-love and hopefully at the very least, self-acceptance.
This can be difficult in a society of constant comparison where every image is retouched and where companies advertise images of younger people to push remedies for aging on an older population.
So if you can incorporate a little more care for your own appearance, it will likely boost your sense of self-worth, self-value and pro-pulse you out into the world with a greater confidence in yourself.
So let the world of beauty give you an extra boost, think of it as vitamins or nourishment for your skin and give it the time to show you its impact, you’ll likely be very impressed.
