COCKTAIL BENEFICE FONDATION SAUMON: Where Elegance Meets Purpose in Montreal
On April 9, Montreal gathers for an evening that goes far beyond a simple cocktail event. Hosted at Fasken in the heart of Square Victoria, the Salmon Foundation Benefit Cocktail is a refined, meaningful night dedicated to protecting one of Quebec’s most vital ecosystems.👉 🎟️ Reserve your spot here.

A preservation mission – far beyond fishing
This is a mission of preservation, not just a matter for fishermen who want to fish. Our work is first and foremost about protecting the rivers on which Atlantic salmon depend and indirectly, many communities as well. As President Carl Bélanger explains:
“For me, what matters most is protecting the health of our rivers, including the fish and wildlife that depend on them. It is, above all, an environmental protection mission. For us now, and for our children and grandchildren later.”
The beauty and complexity of the salmon’s life cycle
The complexity but also the beauty of the Atlantic salmon’s life cycle is remarkable. From its birth in the river, to its journey to Greenland, and its return to exactly where it was born to reproduce. A fascinating cycle but one filled with challenges. Through our work, people become aware of the complexity and the challenges facing Atlantic salmon. As President Carl Bélanger shares:
“The salmon is a fascinating species that, during its lifetime, travels back and forth from its habitat in Greenland to our rivers for reproduction. During this journey, it faces multiple obstacles and challenges. It fully deserves its nickname as the ‘king of rivers.’”
Concrete actions that make a real difference
Through the Foundation’s work, we are able to:
- Fund essential projects supporting thermal refuge zones in salmon rivers, which are critical to the survival of juvenile salmon
- Conduct unique research on the impact of climate change and environmental challenges affecting Atlantic salmon
- Raise awareness among thousands of students across Quebec about the salmon’s life cycle and the importance of protecting our rivers
Each action contributes directly to a more sustainable future. 👉 🎟️ Take part in the mission and reserve your ticket.

A special 2026 edition
2026 marks a year of transition for the Foundation. This year, the Foundation will integrate into the FQSA (Fédération québécoise du saumon de l’Atlantique), its founding organization, to become the Foundation of the FQSA.
The urgency of the Atlantic salmon’s situation calls for a collective response, and this alliance aims precisely to increase efficiency and strengthen our capacity to act in river conservation. As President Carl Bélanger explains:
“The urgency of the situation requires a collective response. This alliance allows us to join forces and strengthen our capacity for action in river conservation.”
This year’s cocktail will also stand out with the presentation of the documentary “What If We Listened to the Salmon”.

One message to take away
If guests leave the evening with just one idea, it would be this: The importance of protecting the environment. As President Carl Bélanger concludes:
“There are many good causes, but one does not take away from another. You simply have to act where you can to make a difference.”

An elegant and meaningful evening
On April 9, join a community of passionate individuals, partners, and friends of Atlantic salmon, gathered around a shared goal: protecting what cannot speak for itself.
