Vernissage & Inauguration: Les Impatients Open Their Grand Atelier

The non-profit Les Impatients inaugurates its new creative hub, Le Grand Atelier de Montréal, two years after the tragic fire at the Monastère du Bon Pasteur. To celebrate, they’re unveiling the exhibition Ailleurs et Ici with new spokesperson Sophie Fouron in attendance.

For 33 years, Les Impatients has supported people living with mental health challenges through art. With 29 service points in 19 cities and 107 workshops, their community impact is enormous. This vernissage represents both a rebirth and a collective celebration of resilience. A touching and important first stop in our Top 5 Vernissages Montréal.

Comme le Geste Soutient la Forme – Collective Exhibition

Curated by Erika Del Vecchio, this inclusive exhibition shines a spotlight on the contribution of women artists, uniting the forces of Blouin Division and Pangée galleries.

Comme le Geste Soutient la Forme explores the strength and vitality of contemporary Canadian painting, in an elegant space at Holt Renfrew Ogilvy. This vernissage blends culture, fashion, and refinement — and is absolutely worth the detour. It’s a chic highlight in our Top 5 Vernissages Montréal.

🪶 Masko Iskwewok & Sculpting Memory – Double Exhibition

📍 La Guilde, 1356 Sherbrooke St W, Montreal
📅 Thursday, October 2, 2025 – 5:30 PM to 8 PM

Masko Iskwewok & Sculpting Memory – Double Exhibition

In a week marked by the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, La Guilde presents two powerful exhibitions:

  • Masko Iskwewok by artists Eruoma Awashish and Meky Ottawa pays tribute to the women in their lives through paintings, prints, and mixed media.

  • Sculpting Memory introduces three acclaimed Inuit sculptors — David Ruben Piqtoukun, Ruben Anton Komangapik, and Abraham Anghik Ruben — who explore myths, family stories, and intergenerational memory.

This double vernissage captures both the intimacy and universality of Indigenous art, making it a must-see on our Top 5 Vernissages Montréal.

🌍 Corps Matériels & Yahndawa/Vertige – Double Opening at OBORO

📍 OBORO, 4001 Berri St, Montreal
📅 Friday, October 3, 2025 – 5 PM to 8:30 PM

OBORO invites you to a night of immersive discovery with a triple program:

  • In the main gallery, activist artist Stanley Wany presents Corps Matériels, an exploration of his African roots and a symbolic reflection on resistance to colonial violence, curated by Michèle Magema.

  • In the smaller gallery, Anne-Marie Bouchard and Manon Siou, with France Gros-Louis Morin, showcase a dual-part video installation evoking landscapes and rivers.

  • To top it off, Sarah Wendt and Pascal Dufaux will activate their psychedelic and colorful installation created during their Sound Object and Film Soap Model residency.

OBORO once again proves itself as one of Montreal’s most avant-garde cultural spaces.
