Odyssée 2022 | 30 Good Plans for the Holiday Season
Odyssée 2022. If you’re in Downtown Montreal, XP_MTL has you covered with 30 Good Plans for the Holiday Season. Schedule details here.
For the past 5 years, XP_MTL has added to the urban environment of Ste-Catherine Street with showcases to promote culture. For the month of December, XP MTL has created festive activities in the downtown core at the inter section of McGill College & Ste Catherine Street. These events will feature surprise concerts, art installations, interactive experiences and kiosks selling unique local artisanal products.
Unplugged Souterrain
Throughout the winter months, Montreal’s Underground City is buzzing with activity. In response XP_MTL created Unplugged Souterrain, where Quebecois artists will perform surprise concerts to entertain the passers by and energize the underground with live music. This initiative is made possible thanks to the support of the Quebec Ministry of Tourism.
Downtown Choirs
Ste Catherine street is the largest commercial artery in the country. During the holiday season it is swarming with shoppers. In order to enhance the holiday spirit XP_MTL created a weekend festival program featuring performances by several Christmas Choirs. They will sing both outdoors on the street and in the warmth and comfort of the Eaton Center.
Giant Art Installation
The giant art installation The Legend of the Bears is on display in front of the Montreal Eaton Center. Inspired by a First Nations legend, Cree artist Jason Carter created this artwork in the hope of comforting all who come across it. For the Cree, when a bear visits you in our dreams, it is a good omen for your future. These three luminous bears watch over the city center and bring comfort to passers-by.
