Summer in Montreal can get hot and humid, we all know it, and this causes our skin to have ever changing and evolving needs, depending on the levels of humidity in our fair city.

Our brutally cold, windy, icy, and long, snowy winters are always very rough on our skin, the harsh cold outside and the incessant heating indoors makes our skin feel like a ragged desert tundra for months on end!

Once spring arrives, very quickly, the temperature varies and falls into a constant play of coolish rainy humid days and the introduction of the hot, hazy, humid summer days, Montreal is famous for.

The humidity can be so high that our skin can literally repel products away with sweat and sebum, so choosing the right products to wear is always essential, during the hot, humid period of summer.

Moisturizers that save my skin in the winter, overload my skin in the summer and are often too thick in consistency for me to appreciate them during the summer months.

Little warning about the sun!

Once you find a moisturizer that works, always remember to add sun protection on top of the moisturizer, especially if it does not have any Sun Protection Factor included.

A surprising and calming, moisturizing gel.

All summer long in 2021, I kept seeing this advertisement with Jennifer Anniston, selling the Aveeno Calm+Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer, and though I have never been a fan of Miss Anniston, I found myself wanting to spoil myself and the moisturizer was on sale. It was July, a warm and glorious day in Montreal, a good reason to be alive, why not try a new moisturizer, spoil yourself a little, so I did!

Last year, I had the honor of trying out a serum from Pravi, a Quebec based beauty brand that produces natural cosmetics, just outside of Montreal.
