This year marks the 15th anniversary of a celebration that bring together the who’s who of the culinary world and civilians willing to pay more than $100 to watch celebs make a cocktail (for a good cause: Over $22 million raised for FIU – School of Hospitality & Tourism Management). 1/ Seaside Eats with Robert Irvine
To kick off the festival’s new Taste of Fort Lauderdale series, more than 15 chefs will dish you up their delicacies at the Bonnet House Museum & Gardens. Wednesday, February 24th. Today!
2/ Amstel Light Burger Bash
Celebrating 10 years as a SOBEWFF favourite, expect judges Neil Patrick Harris and his husband, actor/chef David Burtka, as well as Natalie Morales of the TODAY show, to get passionate about the patty that reign over the competition. Friday, February 26th.
3/ Fireman Derek’s Midnight Breakfast with Chrissy Teigen
Typically, ‘food festival’ and ‘supermodel’ don’t go together, but let’s give it a try: Miami’s famous pie maker, a roundup of firefighters representing different fire houses in Miami and Teigen will be serving their sweet and savory breakfast. Friday, February 26th.
4/ Yappie Hour with Rachael Ray
This is the cutest event at the festival: Rachael Ray is hosting a dog-friendly happy hour and feeding pups her line of pet food (Nutrish). For humans, she’s offering cocktails and win. Saturday, February 27th.
5/ Southern Kitchen Brunch with Trisha Yearwood
The Grammy winner is serving favourite childhood recipes from her best selling cook book. Bonus: The brunch will be buffet style with offerings from more than 10 chefs, as all Southern cuisines should be served. Sunday, February 28th.
