My love affair with Italian food & culture seems endless these days… from Italian wine sponsors, resto launches to THIS: The biggest pizza celebration in town! For two weeks (October 11 to 24, 2022) all foodies are invited to discover the best pizza restaurants in the greater Montreal and Quebec region.
PIZZA FEST is also about showcasing the talent and work of the artisans in the kitchen who work hard to concoct these famous bites of pure pleasure.
This October, Escape the chill and get some warm comforting pizza at Montreal’s PIZZA FEST 2022!
With so many competing restos, and only so many willing-to-eat-carb calories, most people want a little guidance. Having covered PIZZA FEST in the past, our friends are asking us: “Which Italian restaurant should we try?” Well, the answer is not WHICH resto, it’s WHICH PIZZA! An Italian resto just needs 1 signature pizza, for succulent success… below, are the 5 pizzas that we think you should try with a showcased pizza as the one we are most excited to experience this year!
1- DEI COMPARI (Quartier Latin) “Truffo e Funghi Lover”
I love truffle, bring it on. We have not yet dined at DEI COMPARI, but wonderful Funghi and truffle are enough to peak my curiosity and head over to the Latin Corner of Montreal.
2- FUOCO (Varennes) “Bella Ciao” I spy spicy Calabrese coming to heat up October! Worth the road trip for us MTL folk to enjoy this signature treat.
3- FIORELLINO (Laurier) “Margherita” Back to basics with a classic Margherita. Look at that lovely crispy pizza crust. Personally, I love it when a pizza has charred edges.
4- PIZZÉRIA GUSTO (Saint-Léonard) “Mortadella e Pistacchio” I’ll eat anything with pistacchio, and I have never tried it on a pizza!
5- QUINDICI (Petite Italie) / “Fruits de mer” This is one of my favorite Italian restos, strongly recommended by my chef friend Fabian from Titanic. This would def be my showased “MUST TRY”.
