YMX 2023 | A Gala of Aviation, Networking and Celebration Took Flight in Mirabel
On Tuesday, June 13th, the city of Mirabel, known for its unique blend of urban sophistication and natural charm, added a new feather to its cap by opening the much-anticipated F1 Grand Prix week with the 3rd edition of YMX.
Like last year’s edition, the Mirajet hangar at Mirabel Airport became a glitzy hub of gleaming planes and racing cars, as YMX unraveled its grand premise – a unique trifecta of aviation, networking, and celebration.
This elite event did more than simply dazzle, it turned the spotlight on two mental health organizations, the Healing Wings Foundation and the One Nine Project, with both a live auction and an online auction to raise funds to support their important work.
YMX started at noon with the When Your Business Gives You Wings convention. The hangar teemed with eager attendees keen on unraveling the multifaceted world of private aviation. The convention, which extended from 1 PM to 5 PM, had an illustrious line-up of speakers that included airline veteran Laurent Delbar and Cargair’s own Michel Lalande.
As the afternoon ebbed away, YMX transitioned seamlessly into a networking happy hour. It was here that the air vibrated with a whole new energy – the symbiotic fusion of business, art and philanthropy. After Juno Award-winning violinist Alexandre Da Costa wove melodies of jazz sophistication, Rock Fournier’s auction chant captivated attendees.
A pop-up gallery of budding artists’ creative endeavors, a high-stakes casino, a cigar lounge, and the innovative art therapy concepts from One Nine Project all contributed to the evening’s charm. Then came the enthralling fashion show, a dazzling parade of haute couture that waltz through the venue.
As night fell, the hangar transformed into an electric wonderland hosted by BLK PRL (Sandy Duperval). The central stage pulsed with the beats of DJs, including DJ Kaya, Jay Ramis, DJ Villagomez, Hyunji-A, MC Flipside, Saad Ayub, and Sam Van Horne.
The entire event brought together the crème de la crème of Montreal, transcending the usual Grand Prix festivities. It was a trip for aviation enthusiasts, art connoisseurs, philanthropists, and music lovers alike. YMX 2023 encapsulated what Mirabel truly embodies – a city where only the sky is the limit.
