WAVERLY | Legendary Mile-End Corner Bar Gets a SUPER Makeover
Many Montreal foodies and barflies will be happy to learn that the iconic corner bar Waverly, a pillar of Mile End nightlife, has undergone a remarkable revamping by team SUPER.
The bar’s new visage is a canvas painted by Montreal architecture firm blanchette archi.design and brought to life by agents of SUPER, the hospitality group behind the famed Blind Pig and Bar MINÉRAL.
Step inside, and you’re greeted by an atmosphere that is both warm and vibrant, like a Californian sunset after a long winter. A resplendent orange neon sign serves as the proverbial cherry on the cake.
The reboot didn’t stop at the ambience, though. The interior feels cozy and intimate, with broad wooden tables, subtle lighting, and massive accordion doors that graciously introduce you to the brand-new terrace.
Even the music has been finessed, with a carefully selected cadre of up-and-coming DJs set to spin their magic in this reimagined space. It’s like a house party, if your house were an ultra-hip, trendy bar with a VIP section.
Fancy some foodie pleasures? Chef Jack Crokwell, the maestro behind Umami Ramen & Izakaya, has reorchestrated the bar’s culinary notes. The new menu is a symphony of simple yet savoury dishes, vegetarian tapas made for sharing, and Asian-inspired flavours that will have your taste buds playing a gastronomic rhapsody.
