Imagine trading Montreal’s skyline for alpine air and Côte d’Azur vibes, all within 60 minutes of the city. That’s exactly what I did during a weekend press trip to Manoir Saint-Sauveur for the launch of the Veuve Clicquot Sun Club, which the public can experience from July 11 to September 22. What unfolded was two days of curated luxury, sensory indulgence, and a celebration of Quebec summer at its most sparkling.
Chic Arrival, Clicquot Style
After a chartered minibus ride from downtown Montreal, our hearts skipped a beat from the moment we arrived at Manoir Saint-Sauveur. This majestic resort has become a beloved destination of families, couples and business groups thanks to its exceptional rustic chic ambiance and state-of-the-art facilities.
Our small tribe of journalists, bloggers and social media personalities was quickly whisked away to the outdoor terrace for ballon glasses of Veuve Clicquot RICH, crafted for you to “enjoy on ice, under the sun”. Right from the first sip, tropical notes of exotic pineapple and mango in this easy-to-drink champagne set a festive yet laid-back tone.
From afar we could see that the pool terrace had been completely reimagined for the occasion, from parasols to lounge chairs to life buoys, with the signature yellow and white colors of this iconic luxury brand. Sun Club isn’t just a summer-long exclusive pop-up activation. It is a full immersion in Veuve Clicquot’s art de vivre solaire.
Poolside Rituals and a Candlelit Surprise
Friday afternoon’s Sun Club pool party was the headline moment: good music served with the delicious “Sun Club Trio” on the menu: smash burger, fries, and glass of Veuve Clicquot RICH chilled with ice balls. Dressed in glamorous beachwear of solar chic, we mingled between dips in the pool and rests in the cabanas.
But the evening held a more intimate highlight. Around 7:30 p.m., a short shuttle ride brought us to Les Vieilles Portes restaurant in the heart of Saint-Sauveur village. The experience felt straight out of a French Riviera film: a long candlelit table, delicate dishes paired with RICH and RICH Rosé cuvées, and the kind of conversation only found among old friends or new ones met over champagne. A true romantic, quietly luxurious dinner.

Sunrise Rituals: Breakfast, Yoga, and Spa
After waking up in my cozy Evian room, Saturday began with a calm reset. In the Manoir’s hotel lobby, a relaxed American breakfast buffet at La Tablée Restaurant offered every comfort food we had a craving for—fresh fruits, waffles, bacon, eggs, orange juice and freshly-brewed coffee in a comfortable setting.
The early birds among us then gathered in a garden for a serene yoga session under the Laurentian sun. Afterward, it was time for the ultimate indulgence: the Veuve Clicquot RICH Spa Treatment at Spa du Manoir. My session started with a full-body massage using warm Pinot Noir grape seed oil; a subtle, intoxicating scent paying homage to the heart of the champagne from Montagne de Reims in France.
The spa’s thermal experience followed: dry sauna, hot bath, cold plunge and cold shower, topped off with a break in the relaxing lounge with a glass of RICH in hand. No emails. No schedule. Just pure, uninterrupted calm.
Why It Was Worth It
In a season full of buzzy pop-ups and predictable terraces, the Manoir Veuve Clicquot Sun Club stood out. On behalf of all invited media guests, I must salute the creativity and kindness of the Charton Hobbs marketing team and the Manoir Saint-Sauveur staff who blessed us with such a warm and memorable experience.

Every Instagram picture-worthy moment, from the first pour to the last deep breath in the spa, felt thoughtfully prepared and joyfully indulgent.
For those looking to escape without going far, or wanting to add a little Côte d’Azur glow to their Quebec summer, the Sun Club experience delivers. It’s not just about champagne it’s about creating memories that feel as rare and bright as the bubbles in your glass.
