Clear your head and groove to the sounds of some of the biggest DJs in the world from May 21 to October 1, 2023 on an OfF Piknic day!

For over 15 years, Piknic Electronik’s eclectic programming has made it a staple of the city’s summer cultural calendar. Its events are focused on music, dance, and human interaction. A warm, vibrant, and refreshing summer is ahead of us.

Throughout the summer, OfF Piknic will host six Friday and Saturday shows with performances by artists including Tale Of Us, Charlotte de Witte, Green Velvet, Fisher, and Anjunabeats. Let’s delve into why these top DJs are a do-not-miss on OfF Piknic days!

Charlotte de Witte

Belgian-born DJ Charlotte de Witte has become one of the most sought-after names in contemporary electronic music as a result of her meteoric rise to fame.

De Witte’s dedication has been recognized with prestigious honours like Best Techno at the DJ Awards in 2019 and a prominent residency at BBC Radio 1. But what really motivates her is her unrelenting quest to push both her and electronic music’s boundaries.

FIZZ Stage – Saturday May 27 @ 8pm

Green Velvet

Green Velvet (real name Cajmere) was exposed to the vibrant culture and way of life of house while studying chemical engineering at the University of Illinois.

A few spins of this may be enough to convert someone to house if you happen to be a fan who has tried in vain to do so without success. The most distinctive feature of Green Velvet’s tracks would be his monologues and skit-like happenings, at least to the ordinary electronica fan who has been restricted to genres like big beat and trip-hop.

Fizz Stage – Saturday June 3 @ 6h30pm

Anjunabeats

Produced by Above & Beyond’s Paavo Siljamäki and Jonathan “Jono” Grant, Anjunabeats is a British record label. It began releasing house music with a trance edge in 2001, when it was still simply a trance music label. The family has grown of the years reaching over 25 members producing and djing under its entity.

Fizz Stage – Saturday July 1 & Aug 26 @ 10pm

Fisher

The Australian DJ/producer known as Fisher is having a meteoric surge in popularity!

Fisher has gone from being essentially unknown to becoming a star on the global stage. The tremendous crossover success of the Australian DJ/producer’s song “Losing It” has been a major factor in his quick ascension, but his contagious energy and upbeat demeanour behind the turntables and in videos have also been significant factors.

Fizz Stage – Saturday July 8 @ 8pm

Tale of Us

Before branching out into contemporary classical and ambient music, Berlin-based Italian duo Tale of Us (Carmine Conte and Matteo Milleri) gained recognition for their subdued yet intensely evocative tech-house compositions and remixes as well as their daring DJ sets.

Techno with an experimental edge that is melodic, deep, and gloomy can be used to characterize the sound of Tale Of Us. Its frequently characterized by funky basslines and captivating melodies. The duo also has music released by labels including Afterlife Records, which they established in 2016.

Olympic Parc – Saturday September 2 @ 1am
