THE FARSIDES Brossard | Thai Resto & Tiki Bar Opens on the South Shore

Farsides

Brossard, known for its picturesque charm, is now home to a new hotspot that promises to redefine the suburban dining scene. The Farsides, a beloved restaurant in Old Montreal, has opened its second location in the bustling Solar Uniquartier condo complex, right next to the popular DIX30 shopping district.

Farsides

The Farsides is the brainchild of the renowned hospitality group JEGantic. This venture beautifully blends the exotic flavors of Thailand with the vibrant spirit of Hawaiian Tiki culture. The restaurant is more than a place to eat; it’s a nostalgic journey through the 80s and 90s, capturing the essence of the founders’ experiences and passions.

John E. Gumbley, CEO of JEGantic, and his partner, Vice-President Kaje Kandiah, have crafted a dining experience that is a feast for the senses. The moment you step inside, you’re transported to a Brooklyn alleyway circa 1992. The decor is an Instagrammer’s dream, featuring artistic elements that beg to be photographed. Highlights include a unique handmade leather camouflage sofa and Canada’s largest epoxy bar filled with memorabilia from 80s and 90s hip-hop and pop culture.

Even the washrooms are part of the visual feast, adorned with iconic designer purse prints for the ladies and a life-sized New York bodega for the gentlemen. The walls are covered with pages from 90s magazines, immersing guests in a nostalgic trip through a pivotal era.

The restaurant’s design is a collaboration between Gumbley and LOVACO, enhanced with murals from renowned graffiti artists like Benny Wilding, Bryan Beyung, and Leandro Vergara. Each artist brings a unique touch, making the space a dynamic canvas of street art and cultural expression.

Local talents from 1618 Construction and even Molson, who created a unique chrome-dipped ghetto blaster beer tap, contributed to the project.

The menu at The Farsides is designed to be shared and savored with loved ones. Chef Tota Oung of Street Monkeys and JEGantic Group Executive Chef Andrew Bambino have crafted a menu that blends Thai culinary traditions with American classics. Signature dishes include The Fresh Coast Ceviche, The Pineapple Tao, The Bangkok Street Skewers, The Signature Crispy Chicken Wings with Coconut Ranch, and The Mango Salad.

The drink menu, curated by renowned mixologist Lawrence Picard, features modern interpretations of Tiki classic cocktails and The Farsides Signature drinks that transport guests to tropical islands. Among the standout cocktails is The Shook One, named after the classic Mobb Deep single, which has quickly become a favorite.

The Farsides is perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a business lunch, an after-work cocktail, a dinner date, or a place to show off your latest kicks. The bold decor elements, inspired by street art and hip-hop culture, create an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere that invites you to linger and enjoy. With its unique blend of flavors, stunning decor, and dynamic atmosphere, The Farsides is set to become a favorite destination in Brossard.
