Planet Break MTL | Celebrating 15 years w/ Krafty Kuts (UK) 1

Back in 2004, Planet Break founder Spacekadet had the vision to bring the UK sound of Breakbeats to North America. We can now say mission accomplished. After 15 years of throwing parties and bringing headliners from across the pond, they are kicking off this massive anniversary by hosting none other than the breaks master himself: Krafty Kuts.

His bio: Renowned and respected worldwide for his highly technical turntablism, meticulously crafted DJ sets, and party-punching productions, Krafty Kuts is in a league of his own. One of the key pioneers in the UK breakbeat and bass movement, Krafty Kuts has multiple awards to his name and has released music on the likes of Ministry Of Sound, OWSLA, Southern Fried, DMC, Fabric and many more. Continuously immersed in beat culture since forming his own b-boy break dancing crew in the late 80s, Krafty Kuts has had his own record store chain, run labels, promoted critical scene events, formed his own band Wicked City and performed to crowds of 40,000 alongside the biggest names in music from the Rolling Stones to The Prodigy. Living, breathing and sleeping the funk without compromise.

The breakbeat don has won many awards for his mixes, remixes and original productions such as: Breakspoll Best Album – Lets Ride – 2013, Breakspoll Best DJ x 5 – 2004/ 2005 /2007 /2010 /2011, Breakspoll Outstanding Contribution – 2007/2011, Breakspoll Best LP x 3 2007/ 2011/ 2013
