MAC Ball

On Saturday, September 17, dressed in fluid and misty formal wear with a galaxy of colours, more than 950 personalities from the arts and business community gathered at the MAC Ball to celebrate contemporary art for the benefit of the Fondation du MAC.

Transformed for one evening, the industrial space was laid out in such a way as to create an idyllic universe of gathering and sharing, immersing the chic crowd in a fluid scenographic tableau inspired by a creative theme of transparency and light.

Thus, works by Trevor Baird, Gwenaël Bélanger, Jean-François Bouchard, Anthony Burnham, Edward Burtynsky, Geneviève Cadieux, Jason Cantoro, Luc Courchesne, Kim Dorland, Holly King, Caroline Monnet, Robert Rahal, Marc Séguin, Heidi Spector, Karen Tam, Yves Tessier, Chih-Chien Wang and Janet Werner were auctioned and offered to the participants of the evening.

With the support of the Sandra and Alain Bouchard Foundation, this major event –undoubtedly one of the most popular of the season– allows the Fondation du MAC to provide the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal with funds; intended to support the various educational activities of the MAC, to enrich the Museum’s Collection, to promote the influence of Quebec artists and to present in Montreal some of the most prestigious international artists of the moment.
