Summer isn’t over quite yet, but Montreal is already changing clothes.

Labour Day weekend marks the city’s unofficial reset. Vacations wind down, students head back to school, offices come alive again and suddenly our calendars refill with launches, dinners, vernissages and events. Translation? It’s time to get dressed again.

Perfect timing for M3 Mode Masculine Montréal, returning for its 6th edition on September 4 at the Grand Quai du Port de Montréal.

From 5 PM, M3 puts men’s fashion in Montreal front and centre, bringing together designers, creatives, entrepreneurs and fashion lovers for an evening of runway shows, networking and discovery. Get your tickets for M3 2026

Montreal menswear gets its runway

Founded by Yves Ulysse, M3 was created to give menswear its own platform while connecting fashion with creativity, culture and entrepreneurship. This year’s lineup shows exactly why that matters.

Jean Pierre Février makes his return, while HPadar brings the craftsmanship of made-to-measure fashion. Guillaum Chaigne explores recycling through his approach to design, while David Ogalu promises an intriguing sensory exploration.

Different designers. Different interpretations of masculinity and style. One Montreal runway. And then there’s the wildcard.

M3 is teasing a surprise runway from a major designer right in the middle of the programming.

No name. No reveal. You’ll have to show up for that one.

From an idea to six editions

This event also has a special significance for Best Kept MTL.

Years ago, Yves and I met at a Montreal fashion event. During our conversation, he told me about his vision for creating a show dedicated to men’s fashion in this city.

At the time, M3 was still an idea. Fast-forward to 2026 and Yves is preparing to welcome Montreal to its sixth edition. Now he’s showing us how it’s done.

Best Kept MTL has remained a close supporter of M3, and watching that original vision develop into a recurring platform for Montreal fashion makes this edition particularly satisfying to see.

Yves has spent decades moving between Montreal’s worlds of fashion, art, nightlife and culture. That multidisciplinary background is part of what gives M3 its identity. This isn’t only about clothes coming down a runway. It’s about bringing Montreal’s creative community together.

Back to work. Back to school. Back to style.

September might secretly be Montreal’s best fashion month.

Jackets return. Layers return. Tailoring suddenly makes sense again. After months of summer simplicity, getting dressed becomes interesting. That’s why the timing of M3 Mode Masculine Montréal feels so right.

As Montreal moves back to work, back to school and into its fall cultural calendar, M3 gives the city an opportunity to discover what local menswear looks like right now and perhaps where it’s heading next.

With runway presentations, emerging and established designers, industry connections and one mystery guest still waiting in the wings, September 4 should offer plenty to talk about.
