Le Bal Rouge 2022 at Windsor Station sets the Spring on Fire
After two years in ashes, Le Bal Rouge rose like a phoenix on Friday, May 27. Designed by Alison Silcoff Events and catered by Armando Arruda, the glamourous gala, attended by 520 guests, at Montreal’s iconic Windsor Station, was back as a visual and gastronomical delight.
It brought together a powerhouse of philanthropic individuals and companies determined to ensure Quebec is at the forefront of research into infection and immunity. This year’s fiery edition raised $2,000,000$ in support of MI4, the McGill Interdisciplinary Initiative in Infection and Immunity.
The MUHC Foundation’s signature gala honoured the work of Dr. Donald Sheppard. The founding director of MI4, Dr. Sheppard played an instrumental role in Montreal, Quebec and Canada’s COVID-19 response. MI4 was created in 2017 to address the global threat of infection. Today, it brings together over 250 researchers and 5,000 staff from a wide range of fields to find solutions to humanity’s deadliest puzzles: tuberculosis, COVID-19, and the growing threat of antibiotic resistance.
Le Bal Rouge: Black tie event for a good cause
Since its inaugural event in 2016, Le Bal Rouge has raised over $5 million to support excellence in patient care, research, and teaching at the McGill University Health Centre. This one-of-a-kind event has supported surgical innovation, cardiovascular care, ophthalmology and more to keep our community healthy.
I must really thank the great Alison Silcoff, a legendary creator of award-winning events for three decades, for inviting me to experience the glamour of Le Bal Rouge 2022. This upscale luxury gala – co-chaired by Ivan Vella, Ian L. Edwards and Mélanie Bernier – marked the reinvigoration of our city’s social scene after two years of lockdown blues. It was the perfect opportunity to rekindle old relationships and forge new ones…
…heat up the dance floor…
…and step out in style with a touch of red.
