La Part des Anges

Montreal’s vibrant food scene welcomes a new addition: La Part des Anges RestoBar, a haven for reimagined Quebec cuisine. Nestled within the black building of the Distillerie de Montréal on Chapleau Street since June 4th, this innovative restaurant promises a unique gastronomic experience, blending local ingredients with modern culinary techniques.

A Vision Born from Community Needs

Initially conceived as a bar to showcase the distillery’s spirits, La Part des Anges evolved into a full-fledged restaurant to cater to the family-oriented Rosemont neighborhood. “We wanted to introduce our spirits to the locals,” says Stéphane Dion, President of the Distillerie de Montréal. “However, recognizing the community’s needs, we decided to incorporate a dining element. After interviewing numerous candidates, we partnered with two graduates from the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ), whose vision and determination stood out.”

Meet the Dynamic Duo: Stéphanie Boulé and Mickael Nantais

Childhood friends and seasoned restaurateurs, Stéphanie Boulé and Mickael Nantais, are the driving forces behind La Part des Anges. “Collaborating with a Quebec-based company inspired us to create a concept that elegantly and modernly integrates local traditions,” explains Stéphanie. “La Part des Anges isn’t just a neighborhood restaurant; it’s a place where friends—the chef, the sommelier, the mixologist, and the staff—come together to offer a warm and personalized service. We want our guests to feel like they’re visiting friends,” adds Mickael.

Culinary Excellence Led by Chef Julien

The culinary heart of La Part des Anges is Chef Julien Raymond, a passionate chef with over five years of experience. Originally trained at the Laurentides Hotel School in Sainte-Adèle, Julien’s approach emphasizes local market cuisine, blending comforting classics with innovative twists. Living near the Jean-Talon Market, he sources fresh, local ingredients to create both regular noon and evening menus, and spontaneous dishes inspired by the season’s best offerings. Julien’s commitment to eco-responsibility is evident in his homemade creations and waste-minimizing practices.

An Exceptional Drink Menu

Complementing the exquisite food is a drink menu crafted by sommelier Maxime Desmarais and mixologist Simon Gauthier-Daviault. Maxime, with three years of experience at Graziella, curates a diverse wine list featuring both local and international selections. Simon, an ITHQ graduate, brings his expertise from British Columbia and Gaspésie to create cocktails that highlight the distillery’s spirits. Whether it’s signature cocktails, classic mixes, or spirits served neat, the drink menu perfectly complements the dining experience.

Embracing the Spirit of Its Namesake

The restaurant’s name, “La Part des Anges,” refers to the portion of spirit that evaporates during barrel aging, adding depth to the final product—a fitting tribute to its location above the distillery’s aging cellars. The characteristic aromas of the distillery greet guests as they enter, adding a special touch to their dining experience. Visitors can also explore the distillery and participate in tasting or spirit-making workshops, further enriching their visit.
