International Fireworks Competition Loto-Québec starts with a bang!
On June 29th, the Montreal skies will be illuminated by the 35th edition of the L’International des Feux Loto-Québec/International Fireworks Competition.
The world’s largest fireworks competition invites the planet’s pyrotechnics crème de la crème to represent their countries in this fireworks contest, renowned as the most prestigious in the world.
None other than Hands Fireworks, who were part of the very first edition in 1985, have been invited to start the season with a little throwback flair (pun very much intended) featuring some of 1985’s biggest musical hits by David Bowie, Bryan Adams, Eurythmics, Genesis, Madonna, Offenbach and more.
According to La Ronde president Janine Durette, “L’International des Feux Loto-Québec attracts over three million people annually, making it one of Quebec’s most highly attended events. La Ronde is honoured to be the host site for this long-standing tradition beloved by Montrealers and tourists alike.”
Following the Saturday June 29th opening night, a non-competition event, the International Competition will then be held every Wednesday and Saturday, beginning on July 3rd, as South Korea deploys its magic under the theme “Dreaming in Montreal”.
While there’s a plethora of great locations to enjoy the spectacle, nothing can compare to being up-close and personal with this ancient art form than in the grandstands of Six Flag’s La Ronde amusement park.
