Cocktail Signature SP | Blue Night of Elegance and Empathy
In the heart of Montreal’s International District, the Cocktail Signature SP 2023 event unfolded as a testament to the power of collective action. Hosted on November 9, in the majestic Parquet atrium of Édifice Jacques-Parizeau, this gathering was more than just a soirée; it was a beacon of hope in the ongoing battle against multiple sclerosis (MS).
The event, organized by Multiple Sclerosis Canada – Quebec Division, aimed to unite the Montreal business community in a shared mission to support MS research and to provide vital programs and services for those affected by this life-altering disease. With an ambitious goal of raising $150,000, the evening was a blend of networking, gastronomy, and philanthropy.
Among the early supporters were notable figures like Me Marie-Claude Berger Paquin, a prominent lawyer, and the Honourable Marie Michelle Lavigne, a respected Court of Québec judge. Their commitment as honorary co-chairs was a driving force in rallying support for a world free of MS.
Chantal Lamarre, a seasoned television and radio host, masterfully hosted the evening, ensuring a high level of engagement and entertainment.
The event was graced by the presence of John Parisella, a distinguished figure in Quebec’s public scene. His insights, particularly on American politics and the
threats to democracy, added some grativas to the evening.
The guests were also treated to a lavish cocktail party, orchestrated by the well-known catering service Hoogan et Beaufort. The fine selection of wines, curated by SAQ, complemented the gourmet nibbles, elevating the experience, along with an interactive silent auction, featuring many prized items.
A highlight of the soirée was the participation of Nathalie Arbour, an internationally acclaimed researcher in the field of MS. Her discussion on the state of MS research was enlightening, focusing on the interaction between the immune system and the central nervous system and the potential novel therapeutic targets in neuroinflammatory processes.
The event was a resounding success, not just in the ambiance but in its impact. It raised a remarkable $162,900, surpassing its initial goal. This achievement marked 75 years of commitment by MS Canada in supporting the MS community. The funds will significantly contribute to research and quality programs and services for Quebec residents affected by this unpredictable and incurable neurological disease.
As the night drew to a close, the warmth of gratitude was palpable. SP Canada – Quebec Division extended heartfelt thanks to all attendees, partners, donors, and the honorary co-chairs for their invaluable contribution. The Cocktail Signature SP 2023 event was more than just a night of elegance; it was a profound demonstration of empathy and solidarity, a beacon of hope in the journey towards a world free of multiple sclerosis.
