C2 Montreal Unites the Spark of Burning Man with the Insight of TED Talks

Starting today, the world’s preeminent though-leaders are descending on Montréal for an event that has been best described as a “blend between Burning Man and TED”.

Now in its 4th year, C2 Montreal is a 3-day conference where attendees are exposed to tomorrow’s ideas by some of today’s greatest minds. Commerce + Creativity make up the two ‘C’s in the conference’s name, and from the list of
speakers on the roster, delivering on the promise will not be a problem.

Andy Nulman: The Visionary Force Behind C2 Montreal’s Creative Business Revolution.

C2MTL is more than simply a standard conference where you passively sit in your chair and hope to retain information from a presenting speaker. C2 asks of its attendees to actively participate in the process of creativity. At last year’s event, participants were offered the opportunity to slip on a blindfold and jump into a pool filled with white grapefruit sized plastic orbs. While EDM played overhead, pool goers found a partner and were instructed to begin working on solving random business challenges such as youth unemployment or how to better legitimize sex based industries. We told you this isn’t your typical blue-suit, brown shoe event.

C2 is the brainchild of Jean-François Bouchard, President of Sid Lee, Curator of C2 Montréal and Cirque du Soleil’s Daniel Lamarre. Their goal was to “to conceive a corporate event that would help business leaders integrate creativity and innovation into their organizations.” And so in 2011, they launched the world’s most unique business conference.

While there is not a person alive who would not walk out of the event richer for having being immersed in an environment surrounded by the creative illuminati of the world; the price tag is not for the faint of heart or meager of means. At $3800 for a full-pass C2MTL stands as one the most expensive conferences you will encounter. It is no small testament to the quality of the event and the city that hosts it that tickets have been sold out for some time now. 3-day Village Passes can still be purchased for $2350.

For those looking to experience a slice of the event, you are in luck. Tickets to the closing party can be purchased for $55. The 3-day event and closing party are taking place at Arsenal.
