BOLERO X: A Visceral Exploration of Repetition and Unity

At the heart of this triple bill is BOLERO X, a fresh and daring interpretation of Maurice Ravel’s iconic Bolero, choreographed by Shahar Binyamini. This piece stands out for its exploration of repetition and collective movement, using the 1928 score as a powerful backdrop. Fifty dancers will take the stage, moving in unison to Ravel’s crescendoing rhythm, creating a mesmerizing experience that explores the deep connections that unite humanity.

Binyamini’s choreography is striking in its use of repetition to highlight the body’s ability to respond and adapt to rhythm, offering audiences an intense and emotionally charged performance. Each movement builds on the last, drawing the audience deeper into the experience, where the body becomes a vessel for shared expression and strength. Montreal audiences will undoubtedly be moved by the precision and collective energy radiating from the stage.

Medhi Walerski’s Silent Tides and Chamber: A Journey through Intimacy and Grandiosity

The triple bill features two works by Medhi Walerski, reflecting his unique choreographic voice. Silent Tides is an intimate duet that explores human connection through fluid, sensitive movements, while Chamber, set to Joby Talbot’s powerful score, is a grand ensemble piece known for its precise, intricate choreography. Montreal audiences will experience Ballet BC’s acclaimed interpretation of Chamber, which has received rave reviews since its premiere.
