Anjou’s Poutine Fest 1st Edition is One Delicious Drive-In
It’s no surprise that Festivals, exhibits, and all crowd-type-shows cannot roll out like they once did. While many are canceled, some are still happening but a little differently with new pandemic-proof concepts are popping up around the globe. We warmly welcome the first-ever Anjou’s Poutine Fest – Drive-in on through Edition Summer 2020 kick-off!
This week, we were thrilled to discover a MTL favourite in the “Poutine Festival” circuit, a 4 day happening starting THIS Thursday. Anjou’s Poutine Fest will be nom nom nom! You can preview the food porn below and prepare your weekly calorie counting to accommodate this king-of-all-cheat-meals in advance!
So BYOM (Bring Your Own Mask) and head to the South Shore for some high caloric fun! I can safely say that I have not indulged in this Quebec delicacy in over a year, so I am quite excited… Everyone has their own personal brand of poutine they enjoy… well mine has 2 requirements: crunchy steak style fries and a nice spicy brown sauce that is NOT to be confused with the orange-ish B.B.Q chicken sauce. Unlike (many it seems) I dislike the darker brown bendy type fries of a classic diner, La Belle Province. I think we can all agree on the magic curds that squeak against your teeth!
Le Grand Poutine Fest AKA Anjou’s Grand PoutineFest will be held at Les Galeries d’Anjou parking lot (near the former Sears). Remember in the 50s when fancy cars were a THING, many people gathered in parking lots to have ice cream and soda! Just remember to keep to your pod and respect social distancing so everyone can have a yummy, safe time.
Enjoying Anjou’s Poutine Fest in the safety of your car
The event’s car route ensures that all poutine lovers will be entertained from start to finish. Following one another, you will be able to:
- Park your ride where you like! (come early if you are picky)
- Make your shoulders dance to the rhythm of DJ Kleancut while tuning on Poutine FM!
- Work up your appetite by checking the menu using the QR code on posters or official menu
- Enjoy the performances of circus athletes
- Order effortlessly, wait, and… EAT!
Sanitary measures (Spoiler alert, hit YOUR washroom before leaving!)
Under no circumstances will customers be allowed to leave their cars – the Poutine Fest employees will pick up their orders from the different food trucks and deliver it to their window. All employees will wear masks and visors and waterless disinfectant soap stations will be at their disposal. Payments will be made by debit and credit card, and the electronic payment terminal will be attached to a stick to keep a distance between the customer and the employees.
The menu will be available by QR code and will be displayed in the order taking section. No washrooms will be available to customers and it will be forbidden to park on-site to eat. Still hungry for Festival fun? Hello Verdun!
