However, when Alexander’s collection landed on my desk, it felt like a breath of fresh air—redeeming the misguided post-pandemic attempts at avant-garde with a single, decisive statement.

Each piece in the collection is a canvas—literally and metaphorically. Bergman’s choice of canvas, traditionally reserved for oil painting, serves as the foundation for his garments, merging the worlds of fine art and fashion in a way that challenges conventional approaches. The pieces range from dramatic drapery to tailored forms and experimental fabric manipulation, with mediums like painting, drawing, sculpture, and photography coming to life through Bergman’s unique vision.
