On Thursday, July 11th, the iconic La Grande Roue de Montréal played host to a truly refreshing encounter as Hendrick’s Gin introduced their new limited edition fruity gin, Grand Cabaret, in an evening filled with whimsy and sophistication. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., guests embarked on a journey of taste and discovery, set against the backdrop of Canada’s tallest observation wheel.

As the sun began to set, VIP guests at La Grande Roue de Montréal were directed to a private terrace and greeted by hosts dressed in vintage attire, setting the tone for an evening that promised both elegance and eccentricity.

Here, the adventure began with a special gin-tasting station where each guest was given three special tokens, allowing them to sample three curious cocktails crafted to highlight the unique flavors of Hendrick’s Scottish gin infused with cucumber and rose.

The first token could be exchanged for the classic Hendrick’s & Tonic, a cool blend of Hendrick’s Original Gin, tonic water, and a cucumber wrap. This familiar favorite eased guests into the experience with its crisp taste.

The second token introduced guests to the star of the evening: the Grand Cabaret & Tonic. This cocktail, featuring Hendrick’s Grand Cabaret Gin, tonic water, and cucumber slices, showcased the new flavor’s distinct and intriguing profile. The Grand Cabaret Gin – with its bright aromas of stone fruit with rose scents and classic herbal notes – offered a new twist on the classic gin and tonic, captivating the palate with every sip.

The final token allowed guests to indulge in the Grand Cabaret Royal, a luxurious mix of Hendrick’s Grand Cabaret Gin, cranberry juice, green lemon juice, simple syrup, sparkling water, and cucumber slices. This sophisticated cocktail, with its vibrant and enlivening notes, quickly became a crowd favorite, embodying the style and creativity that Hendrick’s Gin is known for.

To enhance their cocktails, guests could visit a small ‘garnish garden,’ where they selected cucumber slices or flowers to personalize their drinks. This interactive element added a playful touch, encouraging guests to experiment with flavors while enjoying delicious bites that perfectly complemented the cocktails.

The evening’s entertainment further enriched the experience. A game of cucumber croquet provided a delightful, vintage twist, while a whimsical carousel horse photobooth allowed guests to capture memories of the evening.

For those who missed it, check out Hendrick’s two upcoming events at the secret garden-themed circus cabaret on the front lawn of Le Monastère on July 19th and July 26th. If our soirée is any indication, those future gatherings will be as unusual. Cheers to an evening of Hendrick’s Cabinet of Curiosities in the heart of Old Montreal!
