MIROIR MIROIR | Free Immersive Experience For Downtown Workers!
Where do you go when you’re lost in thought? Where do you go in your dreams?
Few people seem to be aware of this cool spring happening that is free for workers in the downtown core. MIROIR MIROIR is an immersive art experience at Place Bonaventure in downtown Montreal, which opens on April 4, inviting viewers into a chromatic world of light and sound inspired by the human mind and its limitless creativity. Thanks to the “I love working downtown” economic recovery initiative, whose objective is to encourage workers to return to the downtown core. *More Below*
The Miroir Miroir experience will be accessible, free of charge, to downtown employees, from Tuesday to Friday during the day, with a reservation!
Miroir Miroir, Moment Factory‘s most recent imagining, combines scenography, lighting design, words, original music, and interactivity to create a multimedia experience that invites us to explore our imagination.
Your imagination is the final destination!
Thoughts generate poems, words become light, and gestures may spark a total transformation in this immersive art experience.
Across five immersive art installations, inspired by memory, imagination, dreams and consciousness, visitors are invited to create their own unique engagement with the experience.
In designing Miroir Miroir, Moment Factory tapped into inspiring themes, as well as their in-house R&D, to express the unique artistic vision of their creative and technical teams. Moment Factory, does not dissapoint! Headquartered in Montreal, the studio also has offices in Paris, Tokyo, New York and Singapore. Since its inception in 2001, Moment Factory has created 525 mind-blowing shows worldwide…
As you enter the exhibition, you are confronted by 3 mysterious glowing doors which have you immediately transported into a world of wonder and enchantment. The mirrors, strategically placed throughout the exhibit, create a sense of space and dimension, making it feel like you are stepping into a different dimension altogether.
The largest installation is a maze-like formation made up of mirrors. As you navigate your way through this stunning structure, you’ll catch glimpses of artwork all around you. But that’s not all – you’ll also come face-to-face with your own reflection, creating a powerful experience that will leave you contemplating the interconnectedness of art and life.
A Sneak Peak of 3 of the installations:
In the Memory Storage, visitors contribute to a choreography of light by sharing a memory via their mobile device. This piece of their memory also comes to life in a window animated by artificial intelligence.
In the River of Time and Mirrors of Tomorrow, two interactive installations, each visitor’s movements influence the space.
In the Forest of Echoes, visitors lose themselves in the maze of reflections multiplied in a forest of mirrors.
