How I achieved “Celebrity Hair” During The Pandemic (Secrets Revealed)

celebrity hair secrets, dirty blonde hair, ashblonde hair, icy blonde

Most women, pretty boys and the genderfluid vainglorious have taken the self-care pandemic hours gifted to them to new heights. Some have treated the lockdown and ever-changing-curfew game, as an opportunity for secret beautifying rituals while in the cocoon! (These tips are mostly for earthlings with long hair).

Toners are a celebrity hair secret
The right toner keeps color and shine alive.

I have decided to take my hair to NEXT LEVEL. For who? For ME. There are no hotel bars awaiting my arrival, there are no banquets, no launches, no parties, no man in shining armour demanding princess hair. The only feedback, I get from this “Celebrity Hair” project is from my neighbors and street strangers. In the last few months, literally a daily neighbour, bar & resto industry take-out staff, or stranger has said “Your hair looks gorgeous, WHAT DID YOU DO?” Well, I am here to share my secrets! While I am going to mention some incredible stylists, products and my current favourite hair bars, this editorial has NOT been sponsored.

Firstly, structural hair damage is THE Most important thing to reverse. Some stylists will say cutting it is the only solution but technology will speak a different truth! If you want a good stylist (because they are half the battle) I can recommend my girl Ashley from Blome and Queen of the World and my guy Luis Caledron from Blome.

Nanoplastia is the number one thing that will literally reverse your hair’s age and quality

I swear by XOX By So, a very reputable brand. Many local salons use it, and you can ask your stylist to order it. The formula of this particular treatment is full of rich amino acids and collagen that go to straight to the hair’s cortex when in contact with heat. That way the hair’s structure is strengthened and nutrients are absorbed by the hair which repairs them from the inside. It tends to straighten the hair for a few months by 70-90% depending on how curly/damaged it was previously. I love thick straight hair, so this saves me using a flat iron, more than I need to. It also means half the time for drying, because your hair is healed and sealed, so it is less porous.

OLAPLEX Hair products are by far the purest most high tech hair repair solutions on the market

OLAPLEX restores damaged and compromised hair by repairing from the inside out with its patented single ingredient, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate. I like Olaplex No5 but I see they have just released No8! This is an expensive product, but you just use it as a mask weekly, you do not need to use it often and you only need a dime. Massage it into the ends, leave for 5 minutes, then rinse. They have conditioners and intense masks, depending on how much heaviness your hair can handle. If you have thick blonde, color treated hair like me, you can use quite a bit but if you have thin brown hair, it might make the hair shaft a little heavy, use sparingly.

Argan oil. You can be cheap and try other oils but only Argan is both light and moisture rich

Argan oil is good for your hair because it contains essential oils and fatty acids that are incredibly restorative to dry, damaged hair. Not only does it repair damaged hair it helps to maintain healthy hair by keeping it supple, soft, and well-nourished. Heat from styling, salt from sweat, UV rays from sunlight all fight your hair’s natural protective oils. Especially in Montreal where city water is chlorinated, every shower strips away your natural protective oils, that without restoring, your hair will break.

Toners are your friend. Every 8 weeks is ideal

Toners also strengthen hair by creating a protective barrier around the strands, and balance the porosity of hair by filling in the shaft. Lastly, toners add volume and shine to hair by plumping the hair cuticle to make it fuller while also sealing down the cuticle to create reflection and shine.

Brush your hair twice a day with a quality brush. Boar bristle or protected ball point plastic

There is a myth that 100 times is good for how many times to run a brush through your hair. This is FALSE. This is overbrushing! All you need to do and do this only when hair is almost dry or dry is brush your hair from root to tip until it is tangle free. You do this slowly and carefully, twice a day. This is all that is needed. This removes tangles, distributes scalp oil and gently removes dead hair that get in the way of new growth.
