7 Clothing Colours to punch a wow in your wardrobe THIS Fall/Winter! 1

Hello my fabulous fashionistas! Let’s talk about 7 Clothing Colours To Brighten Up Your Fall/Winter Wardrobe! This past summer, rich colours received more sartorial attention than ever before. Brightly coloured pants with matching liquid satins tops made a noticeable and welcome splash on the fashion scene.

In the past bright colours would fade a way to a more neutral or deep tone marking the end of summer; antiquated  fashion rules dictated the colours that dared not cross seasonal boundaries. As someone who will somewhat adhere to fashion rules I can tell you that this fashionista is definitely over the moon to see the rules being rewritten resulting in a much more interesting fall/winter and holiday season wardrobe. Even the fabrics are translating in such a way that we can save a little money and closet space by adding these colourful trends that will transcend from one season to the next.

So, what’s in? I have to warn you that these colours are not for the faint of heart, so buckle up buttercup you are in for a bold, colourful ride. Don’t like one of the colours? Have no fear, in 7 Clothing Colours- you’re bound to want to integrate 2 or 3….

7 Clothing Colours – Hello Yellow!

Yellow: envision a field of marigolds come to life in all their glory. This bold yellow is eclipsing the traditional tans looks we are accustomed to donning to blend into autumn. It’s showing up as a staple colour for fall and winter like a hot ray of sunshine.

7 Clothing Colours – Orange you glad I told ya!

Burnt orange with a bit of a 70s feel giving way to a new take on rust as well as tangerine are both on the fall scene. These striking hues are showing up in jackets and jeans and if that’s a little too bright for you, you can always opt in for a great statement bag and/or pair of shoes. Even VOGUE agrees with burnt orange! (Strangely, they are all for Lime Green… personnally I think that’s too cold for Canadian FALL/WINTER ;)

Blues without the melancholy. Stunning cobalt blue is a must have! It’s gorgeous as a monochromatic look or as a flash here and there. It’s a friendly colour for everyone’s wardrobe as it looks sensational on its own or when combined with neutrals and  muted tones like taupe and beige.

7 Clothing Colours – Pretty in Pink is back!

And now or my personal favourite and absolute obsession. Barbicore pink previously known as hot pink. Over half of the looks that walked the runways at fashion week have sanctioned this colour as a trend that is in year-round. You can do a head to toe chromatic look right down to the shoes and bag or use it to make a splash by adding a piece here and there.

7 Clothing Colours – Bold modern white, is always in fashion!

A new twist on neutrals. Bored with the typical taupes, cremes and beiges? Pastels are the new neutrals and they are not reserved for spring anymore. Mix and match in one palette or add it to soften and add contrast.

Sparkles are always dazzling, no matter the year but they are EXTRA fab post pandemic – as people want to SHINE again!

Looks that shimmer. Shimmer may not technically be a hue, but given how frequently it appeared in several autumn collections, I feel compelled to highlight it.  Sequins are always in fashion for the holiday season but these aren’t your typical glittery garbs. Think sheer sequins, crystal netting, and brilliant unique adornments.

All this being said as someone who eats, drinks and breathes fashion, I love that colours once reserved for the spring and summer are taking over to add brightness to fall and winter. Choosing fabrics like liquid satins, mesh and tulle translate into year-round wear, getting more value for your dollar to spend on things like a night out or a day at the spa.

Are you shopping on a budget? Maybe you just want to try a little bold colour before going into a full monochromatic look? Zara is stocking all of these fab colours in everything from dresses, tailored suits, scarves, bags, shoes, coats … the list goes on. Have a little more to spend as in designer? The bay is definitely embracing these audacious colours through their designer collections. Whatever your budget you are definitely going to stand out in a colourful way this fall/winter and holiday season.
