RIVA is a brand new terrace restaurant recently opened in the heart of the Old Port of Montreal, nestled at the edge of the Marina, at 2 de La Commune Street West.

Riva

French Riviera Style

Inspired by the south of France and the French Riviera, the magnificent outdoor terrace offers a modern design with classic touches reminiscent of the seaside and the joie de vivre of Cannes was designed with the help of the young designer Amlyne Phillips (Kampai Garden, Jatoba, Cafe Bazin). There are lounge sections to lie under the sun, as well as a section of cushioned and modified picnic tables, all under a semi-roof that offers shade from the sunshine of the Old Port.

In the kitchen we find three passionate chefs: Ashley Thornton, Fabrizia Rollo and Veronique Cantin. They offer a varied menu of Al Taglio Roman pizzas, fresh salads, gelatos, sherbets and original dishes. Everything is homemade every morning by the dedicated kitchen team.

Riva

A rolling prosecco-bar unique in North America

A particularity of the terrace is undoubtedly its rolling bar – a vintage Citroën H Van dating back to the 60s that has been reassembled and modified into a prosecco bar with the expertise of the veteran mixologist Lawrence Picard.

Who says terrace under the sun necessarily says Aperol Spritz, which is why Aperol is a principal sponsor of RIVA. There is a varied menu of pitcher cocktails as well as a good selection of “mocktails” – non-alcoholic cocktails – all signed by Maxime Cloutier-Gagnon.

Did you say RIVA?

The name RIVA comes from the legendary Riva boats in varnished mahogany that were in the 60s symbols of luxury and refinement. Prized by the stars of the era such as Brigitte Bardot or John F. Kennedy, the Riva was known as the “Rolls-Royce of the Sea”. However, in this case, we are talking about affordable luxury, since RIVA aims to serve family customers during the day and a business clientele for festive happy hours in the early evening, in addition to tourists passing through Old Montreal.

The new cool spot to go to get away from everyday life, RIVA could become your favorite place in the Old Port for the summer.
