Montreal Jams is gearing up for the Fall 2018 session. An opportunity to dig deep and find the rock star in you. If you can play an instrument or sing you can find yourself in a ROCK BAND!
Montreal Jams gives recreational adult musicians the opportunity to jam and perform with others in a fun, relaxed atmosphere this Fall. Bringing music lovers together to recreate historic songs by inspirational artists, Montreal Jams is exactly what you need to pursue your musical dreams and goals, catering to folks 18-98 while taking care of the logistics and organizing all the moving parts in creating your dream rock band.
Montreal Jams provides and coordinates:
Weekly rehearsals (2 hours each)
Clean, equipped jam space (amps, drums & PA)
Fan-favourite song selections
Band coach at each rehearsal
Instruction on song parts, and guidance on playing together as a band, instrument sounds & effects, arranging songs, set lists, and performing live
A live, professional-quality show at a Montreal venue, featuring bands from the current session
You will find yourself working on life-changing songs with equally passionate bandmates. Recreating scenes on stage in front of an auspicious crowd. Bands and artists include The Beatles, David Bowie, The Tragically Hip, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, U2, Nirvana, The Rolling Stones. Performing tracks such as Here Comes the Sun, Brown Sugar, Wish You Were Here, Beautiful Day, Come As You Are, and so much more!
In addition, you will also get to work with coaches, who will help you every step of the way, providing moral and professional support to keep you on track. Here are some of the bios of experts assigned to your band practices:
Scott Cook – Having started his first band at the age of 12, he has been performing for more than 30 years. Scott has performed rock, pop, and jazz with many talented musicians. With a PhD. in music he is now in the music department faculty at Vanier College, where he teaches music theory, ear training, and the history of rock n roll.
Jiak Depaola – His extensive studio, live and recording industry experience landed him a position at a world-renowned music house. He is a multi-instrumentalist & producer. For the past 5 years, Jiak has been running his on production house offering custom music, licensing, rights clearance, and catalog representation. You need a music solution, he’ll find you one.
Ben Cardilli – Ben studied jazz guitar at Vanier College, and has played guitar, bass, and/or sang in numerous bands. He has toured across Canada multiple times, and has also produced many of his own records. Most recently, Ben succeeded as quarter-finalist on the popular singing program La Voix (The Voice) on TVA
Justin Saladino – By the age of 11 years, after 6 years of training, Justin started performing songs by artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Led Zeppelin. He has fronted a number of blues/rock groups that went on to perform at festivals, including the Montreal Jazz Festival. Justin has also performed on television and radio.
These coaches will be your guide on your rock star journey, providing an outlet for the creative being inside of you—one that is roaring to be heard. You will be given all the tools required to succeed, will build lasting relationships, and will perform live on stage in front of family and friends.
