Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition | @ the State Fair of Texas in Dallas
Rafael Luna, producer of Mundo Latino, and Martin Biallas, CEO of SEE Global Entertainment (SEE), announced today that “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition” will have its U.S. premiere on September 30, 2016 at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas.
The unique exhibition recreates one of mankind’s greatest artistic achievements, Michelangelo’s renowned ceiling frescoes from the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel, reproduced photographically and artfully displayed in its original size in an innovative interpretation of the timeless masterpieces to be viewed up close, including “The Creation” and “The Last Judgment” as shown here.
Set to run every day from 10 am to 7 pm through the State Fair of Texas, the exhibit is expected to achieve record-breaking attendance numbers, with more than 150,000 art lovers, families, and students. Fair attendees will be able to purchase tickets for the exhibit in advance and at the door for a nominal entrance fee of $8. Children 6 and under are free. Martin Biallas, SEE’s CEO, described the sacred and majestic experience that will greet State Fair of Texas visitors at the Mundo Latino Exhibit. “The exhibit showcases 34 life-size photographic reproductions of Michelangelo’s ceiling frescoes, exhibited on 16-foot panels with a trussing structure, brilliantly illuminated with outstanding resolution, clarity and color. It will also feature other Michelangelo works including a life size replica of his ‘Pieta’ sculpture, biographical films, and a display of his letters and poems to show the genius and complexity of his life.”
Biallas is the famed original creator of the award-winning “Titanic” and “Star Trek” exhibitions and of other successful traveling exhibitions worldwide. To produce Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel – The Exhibition, Biallas teamed with Erich Lessing the noted photographer of The Louvre and the Vatican Museums, with spectacular results.
Mundo Latino “A Celebration of Cultures” at the State Fair of Texas, has multiple components during the 24 days of the Fair. These programs feature a distinct outreach to the Latino community including stage performances, Mercado, a textile fair, and the Little Mexico Photo Exhibit. Luna has been producing Mundo Latino at the State Fair of Texas for the last 20 years.
The Sistine Chapel Exhibit first opened in Montreal in July 2015 to rave reviews.
