Lignes de Fuite | a book launch to question the zeitgeist

First a magazine, now a book, Milan Tanedjikov is bringing back tangible reads as he questions the modern zeitgeist.

ZEITGEIST: the defining spirit or mood of a particular period of history as shown by the ideas and beliefs of the time.

People today read on their tablets, kindles, computers, and smartphones. As can be seen, there is just no room for flipping palpable pages anymore. Consequently, it is the death of the paperback era.

I used to stack all my fashion magazines and go through memorizing every image. I used to be assured that the books in the library told the truth. However, for years now, I am bombarded by mediocre editorials, semi-truthful information or just plain bogus.

This is what Milan wants us to see, to know and to be wary of.

This Friday, September 29th, the first volume of Lignes de Fuite is launching at the Centre Phi, 407 rue Saint-Pierre, Montréal.

Lignes de Fuite is a collection of student projects, graduated or in school. Aspiring professionals coming from LaSalle College, École supérieure de mode of UQAM, Université de Montréal and Concordia as well as LCI Barcelone, Head-Genève, Atelier Chardon Savard Paris and Royal Academy Antwerp.

The actors surrounding the production of this book will discuss as the editor in chief and partner of Milan, Estelle Gervais, will host. It will be a great conversation between the various collaborators (art director, editors, young designers, and photographers).

Estelle’s magazine, THEFINEPRINT, is on the 3rd volume, and soon to be fourth. It’s a visual and intellectual guide that questions our modern zeitgeist. It has represented designers, photographers and graphic designers from here and elsewhere. Definitely, the type of publication you keep for years on end.
