Continuing their reign in Montréal as one of the most eclectic production companies around, I Love Neon is the gift of a team that just keeps on giving. This time, they’ve got the great Jessy Lanza coming to town, and you don’t wanna miss it.

Jessy Lanza has just released Oh No, the follow-up LP to her 2013 debut Pull My Hair Back. Both of which are entirely forward-thinking R&B electronica laced with heavy synthesizers, funk, and soul.
Jessy Lanza grew up in Hamilton, ON. To which her musical journey laid roots. Coming from musical parents and having played piano as early as 6 years old. It was the early years that bred a songstress with a love for R&B, citing major influences such as prominent sounds from Timbaland and Missy Elliott.
Lanza spent time honing her talents right here in Montréal. A city that is known to incubate and grow many talented Canadian musicians and producers. As Lanza grew with her songwriting and producing, a deep love for machine-made rhythms and haunting vocals developed to near perfection.
Affiliated with U.K record label Hyperdub, Lanza has contributed vocals to releases from Ikonika, Caribou and Morgan Geist. Probably the most impact in collaboration came with Junior Boys’ Jeremy Greenspan, who had collaborated on both of Lanza’s records.
Jessy Lanza is more than a vocalist. She is a true songwriter and producer, who should never be looked at as just the voice on her tracks. The depth of talent to create music in entirety here goes much deeper than the average singer. Period.
Rounding out the evening, I Love Neon has included south-side Chicago’s DJ Taye, and Montréal musician Marie Davidson on the bill for the night. Sure to be an event full of heavy synth and high energy.
