Bandmark is counting down the days until the Grand Opening of Montreal’s newest steakhouse, JARGO Chophouse and Mixologie on May 29th. Located at 8 Sherbrooke St. West, the former home of Koko Restaurant + Bar and Suco Resto-Lounge, we think JARGO is set to be one of Montreal’s summer highlights, and here’s why…
Serving healthy selections (approved by Dr. Joe Schwarcz) and ethical menu options (including Certified Humane Angus Beef and Sustainable Seafood), we are totally digging the idea of eating with a clean conscience! Not to worry, if eating healthy isn’t your thing, JARGO’s got a great selection of richly remixed staples including Lobster Pogos, Mac n’ Cheese Balls, and Bacon Wrapped Onion Rings (dear god! Foodies you’ve been warned.)
From hosting music mavens such as Sharam, Snoop lion and David Morales, this venue is known for being home to the best entertainment and atmosphere. JARGO is also home to the swankiest terrace in all of Montreal. (If you’ve never enjoyed a drink on this breath-taking terrace, you haven’t lived!) Put the JARGO terrasse on the top of your bucket-list this summer, and get ready to get your mix-on, as JARGO will only be serving the finest handcrafted cocktails from Montreal’s own mix-masters Nectar & Mixologie.
While the corner of Sherbrooke and Saint-Laurent has been a tough spot to crack for many restaurateurs, we think JARGO is poised to pack a punch, giving this cranky corner an attitude adjustment. We’re looking forward to attending the Grand Opening to get a taste of their gourmet menu and imaginative cocktails and to check out the new interior designs which features a sprawling mural of eclectic artwork which envelops the dining area in portraits of history and pop culture. Our biggest question… Will the famous KOKO-dog survive the renos?
