New Heartstreets! | Cruising With You
One of my absolute favourites artists in town, Montréal duo Heartstreets just dropped their new track Cruising With You! As to be expected with these ladies, the song is pure urban bliss.
Once again, Emma Becko and Gabrielle Godon bring the heat, this time around with producer Da-P.
This song could quite possibly be one of their strongest releases yet. It’s been fascinating to hear the growth with each new cut released. Here we have a single that is ready for radio play. Very current, very relevant, but still entirely trend-setting for a new direction of hip-hop.
Cruising With You remains very signature to the sound I have come to love and expect from Heartstreets, but a little lighter, a little more airy and a perfect track to transition towards the summer. This is a song to get lost with in a beautiful spring/summer days drive.
Heartstreets has always brought on that gripping melody. Playing with emotionally heavy lyrics and smooth R&B down-tempo productions, I have always felt an emotional grittiness behind the duo’s tracks. A perfect example can be found in last month’s released track Crawling South.
Heartstreets is doing it right. The girls have been listed by Spotify on the Viral Hits Canada playlist, gained radio-play on The Strombo Show, as well having Crawling South added to rotation on the Much Canadiana playlist.
Next month will see the duo return to Toronto to play a show as part of Canadian Music Week! I highly suggest checking this event out. If you don’t know what to expect from them, check my previous blog about their impressive live dynamics.
Cruising With You and Crawling South are the first taste’s off their debut EP You & I, which see’s release on May 6th. Stay tuned for more on that in the coming weeks!
Jump on in and cruise along with Heartstreets on what is sure to be THEIR year to blow up.
