Good at losing | Permanent Ability’s latest single
Another twitter find! Permanent Ability have a classic alternative/rock sound and if I may funk/metal in there as well from the legit laid back loose bass intro in one of their newest singles Good At Losing. They have that 90’s Seattle grunge sound like Foo Fighters and that guy’s college band feel similar to Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Not quite as rageful as Rage Against the Machine– but definitely some influences from there as well. This is catchy, familiar beer and bar track material.
Their 2010 first round ballot, 5 category, Grammy nominated release ‘Bring It On!’ is produced by Jim Wirt whose credits include: Incubus and Hoobastank amongst many notable others. They even caught the attention of Parliament Funkadelic, Fox, Scion, and Rockband. The band is an independent national US act that frequently headlines the famous Los Angeles venues such as Whisky A Go Go, showcasing radio friendly songs with an explosive live show that menaces with energy.
A clever promotional photo being used on their Facebook timeline shows what looks like the entire band- at a glance. A closer look reveals that the band is comprised of Brian Lanese x 4, a somewhat inside joke because Brian writes and produces all the music, as vocalists often do..
