One of ‘‘The 500 Best Galleries Worldwide’’*
Unveils Third Montreal Location: GBDIII
*Modern Painter, the prestigious NY-based art publication, selected Galerie de Bellefeuille (GdB) as one of best 500 galleries in the world; one of the top 5 in Canada.
Celebrating 36 years showcasing modern and contemporary works by artists from Europe and North America, GdB proudly announces another expansion. Two years ago, GdB ll was inaugurated opposite the flagship gallery on Greene Avenue. Now the firm inaugurates GdB lll on Montreal’s Golden Mile. The new space, steps from the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA), will allow the gallery to showcase artists of international renown, both emerging and established. (See Fact Sheet).
Visionary owners Helen and Jacques Bellefeuille have evolved the gallery’s reputation into a headlining platform for the world’s top artistic talent. Leading the conversation about contemporary art, they premiered Chihuly in Quebec before the MMFA’s acquisition, and brought Jim Dine and his works to Canada, among other groundbreaking exhibits. The energetic couple not only bring unparalleled exhibitions to Montreal, but spotlight their artists internationally. GdB exhibits at Art NY, Art Toronto and Palm Beach and Art Basel Miami’s Context.
At GDB III the Bellefeuilles are presenting a carefully curated exhibit with seminal figures such as Tom Wesselmann, Robert Polidori, Hunt Slonem, Mel Bochner, Julien Opie, Vic Muniz, Damien Hirst, Chuck Close, Eric Fischl and Robert Indiana on three floors of the spacious “white cube. ”
