If there’s one thing that will get most of us out of bed it’s pancakes… and smoothies. On Wednesday, July 9th BandMark is attending the denim industry giant DIESEL’s 1st annual “Pancake Breakfast” event, right outside its flagship downtown Montreal store. The Italian denim retailer known for its cutting-edge design and trend-setting fashion is once again making headlines. This time, it’s in support of a truly worthwhile cause.
A FREE “Pancake Breakfast” for a donation to support the ONEXONE foundation: Sounds like a good charitable cause to me 🙂 Founded in 2005, ONEXONE’s mission is to improve the lives of children in North America and around the world with programs dedicated to five fundamental pillars: water, health, education, play and nutrition. All proceeds from the DIESEL “Pancake Breakfast” will support the “Million Meals Movement,” a community-based initiative aimed to alleviate food insecurity in North America. Joey Adler, ONEXONE Founder & CEO, explains “DIESEL is one of our founding sponsors and has helped raise millions of dollars for our kids.”
French-Canadian chef Chuck Hughes, who won the culinary game show Iron Chef America and co-owner of Garde Manger and Le Bremner will be flipping pancakes bright & early! For him cooking is about keeping it simple, using fresh ingredients and having fun, which is why he’s been hard at work developing a special pancake recipe exclusively for this DIESEL event.
Danny Smiles will also lend his kitchen skills, DJs DJ YO-C and DJ Abeille their beats with Miss Prêt-à-Manger serving up delicious and nutritious smoothies! The batter drops @ 7:30 AM – see you there!
