Diary of a FMD Virgin | Entry 2

Dear FMD Diary…
Hot off the heels of a strong kick-off day for this year’s Festival Mode & Design, day 2 of the festival got off to a strong start. The weather had cooled, if only slightly. The crowds, fashion and events at Quartiers de Spectacles however did not cool down one bit.
For myself, to start off day 2 I attended one of the many conferences FMD is bringing to the public. Le21eme founder, & self-taught photographer Adam Katz Sinding was a conference highlight.
Here we have a man who has a undoubted talent behind a camera lense. Anyone who follows the Le21eme blog onlne, or on instagram knows his style of shooting & can get the impression of a bystander looking into the fashion world around us.
Adam spoke about his style & how that came to be. Inheriting his first camera at the age of 12, Sinding has capitalized on his skills behind the lense shooting the sights around us. Those not-so common, candid shots of the fashion world offer a different type of insight to those like myself with little knowledge of the fashion world. A very real & authentic insight.
Showing photos taken from fashion events around the world, Adam also had some shots he had taken of the Mode & Design Festival to share. Highlighting the Montreal vibe, conference attendees got treated to some fantastic shots taken around the Quartier des Spectacles grounds while he roamed about earlier in the week. A definite inspiration to pick up a camera and start shooting the world around as we see it. Not posed. Not filtered.
Runway shows for the evening included some exciting features as well!
L’autre Couture Local Creatures presented a runway show that had some intense high-fashion looks & provided the audience something that felt so deluxe, so expensive & so intriguing.
Luko Marion has created an innovative concept by opening an authentic showroom here in Montreal. Featuring original high fashion couture pieces that are custom made, & can be adjusted/fitted right on site!
Original, entirely made in Quebec Couture fashions can be found through these doors. A workspace is also available for creators to fashion pieces directly in the showroom. Giving customer’s a direct & privileged experience, here you can find that special addition to the closet that will be one of a kind & always yours
In addition to providing a direct & privileged experience to the public, ustomers can also receive beauty treatments such as blow-outs makeup application, professional photography and specialized training.
Be sure to check out this guy’s work. He is offering something to the city that is truly unique.
La Vie En Rose closed out Thursday evenings show on the main runway, celebrating 30 years of sexy women’s lingerie. The girl’s were looking hot, the crowd was loving the show, & the excitement heading into FMD’s weekend events was evident.
Flirting with the audience ever-so playfully. These girls walked the runway looking so comfortable in their barely-there ensemble’s. A perfect end to Thursday’s events.
