Bal 2159 | Airport Hangar Turned into Jet Set Wonderland (PHOTOS)
On Friday, September 20, Hangar 18 at the Saint-Hubert Airport was literally transformed into a jet set wonderland for Bal 2159, the 3rd edition of the biggest annual gala on the South Shore of Montreal!
The ball was an opportunity for some media personalities, business people and young professionals to dress in style and come celebrate for a good cause: the at-risk youth help center Le 2159.
Quality food stations, open bar all night and the top DJs in town, all in an enchanting setting!
After last year’s Taste of Thailand, this time around guests were in for a Welcome to Wonderland.
With 700 tickets sold this year and $180 000 raised since its first edition, the Bal 2159 gala definitely achieved its goal of marrying a fairy tale night with a worthy cause.
What’s that number?
Le 2159 helps the most vulnerable young people in our society, many of whom are just emerging from the Director of Youth Protection network. The kids they work it are not equipped to face the challenges of adulthood and are vulnerable to homelessness, delinquency and sexual exploitation. Through workshops, individual interventions and accommodations, Le 2159 aims to break isolation and develop the autonomy of young people from 15 to 25 years of age.
The funds raised during Bal 2159 galas are always used to increase the number of youth supported by the center and to pay their accommodation expenses. In concrete terms, this means: hiring staff in order to have social support 24 hours a day, supporting monetarily and emotionally young people in need, increasing the number of activities dedicated to young people attending Le 2159 and enabling young people to participate in reintegration internships.
