AlunaGeorge | I’m In Control
Just about 3 years ago now, U.K duo AlunaGeorge saw the release of their debut album Body Music. The album was hot when it came out, & for me it has yet to grow old. Their smooth electronic-centered-R&B never fails to get my body moving.
Since Body Music‘s release, AlunaGeorge has gained some global recognition. Mostly due to DJ Snake & his remix of their single You Know You Like It. The remix was, without a doubt, one of the hottest songs on the radio last summer. It allowed the duo to get some U.S/Canadian radio-play, & made singer Aluna Francis’s signature vocal style instantly recognizable.
Not that they ever left us, AlunaGeorge graced the world with the first official taste of their new album earlier this afternoon. Their new single, I’m In Control, is the first official taste of the new LP & feature’s Popcaan. On first listen, it seems AlunaGeorge is picking up right where they left off with Body Music, but turning up the energy just a bit.
The new single boasts a up-tempo production & set’s the bar for what is to come. Alunageorge showed off plenty of new music at their Montreal gig this past October. All of which sounded so sweet & had me made excited for new material.
Their new single is only fueling my need for this album more, which they have said will feature production from Zhu & Flume. They also teased the record to feature a lot more live instrumentation! Intriguing, right?
