We all know of actress Juliette Lewis. We’ve loved watching her take on some massive film roles over the past 25+ years. We’ve seen her dedicate herself to activism for animal rights. Lewis has been a staple within Hollywood for decades.

What you may not know about Juliette is that she is also a fully bonafide rock star. Ever the multi-tasker, this summer sees Juliette Lewis’ first tour in several years which hits Montreal this Friday, August 5th.

Yet again I Love Neon Productions has upped the ante. Tickets are at the sweet price of $25 and can be found here.

Juliette Lewis has just released her new single, Hello Hero. A definite shift in sound with some big funky bass, the single is co-written with Isabella “The Machine” Summers, widely known for her work as part of Florence and the Machine. They result is a funky, somewhat dancey and infectious rock track. A new sound that personally, I am loving.

“There’s this ferocious little rocker and then a girl who wants to celebrate and take everybody with me and have a dance party.” Juliette Lewis on new single Hello Hero.

“For me, it begins and ends with my live show. I’m not working for a label. This is a labor of love. I work for the people! And my heart, and my soul.”

Lewis is a fully committed musician. She has a clear direction and a unique sound. Based solely on her acting credibility and diverse roles over the year, you’d never expect this lady to be able to embody the greats. Juliette Lewis personifies the rock band leader, like a fusion of the classic rock stars we all knew growing up that drove our culture. Somewhat unexpected, but 100% respected. Juliette Lewis is a musical force not to be slept on.

Now, as Juliette Lewis puts together the new EP, she is touring with long-time friends and collaborators. Rage Against the Machine’s Brad Wilk, Juan Alderete of Mars Volta and former Licks collaborator Todd Morse.

California musician Ilan Rubin opens up the show with his solo project, The New Regime. Primarily known as the drummer for Nine Inch Nails, Paramore, Angels and Airwaves and much more. Rubin’s solo project has new release brewing.

As we wait on the new music, don’t miss your chance to check out this fully rounded class act and talent do her thing and light up the stage at Fairmount Theatre.
